20110052930High Gloss Thermoformed Article and Process for Producing Same - The present disclosure is directed to a thermoforming process and thermoformed articles produced therefrom. The thermoforming process includes heating a structure with a gloss layer composed of a propylene-based polymer having a melt flow rate from about 0.1 g/10 min to about 1.5 g/10 min, and producing a thermoformed article wherein the gloss layer has a post-thermoformed Gardner gloss value within 25% of the pre-thermoformed Gardner gloss value for the gloss layer. The thermoformed article may have a gloss layer with a post-thermoformed Gardner gloss value greater than or equal to about 60.03-03-2011

20100139374METHODS FOR RHEOLOGICAL TESTING OF MULTIPLE SAMPLES AND SYSTEMS THEREFOR - The viscosity or relative viscosity of samples can be measured in parallel by dispensing or aspirating the samples at a set condition and then measuring a property of the sample such as mass dispensed or aspirated.06-10-2010
20100168343FUNCTIONALIZED POLYMERS, ARTICLES PREPARED THEREFROM, AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME - The invention provides compositions comprising at least one propylene-based polymer, at least one peroxide and at least one coagent. In a preferred example, a composition comprising at least one propylene-based polymer, at least one peroxide, at least one grafting agent, and at least one coagent, and wherein the at least one coagent has a substituted carbon-carbon double bond structure selected from the group consisting of structures (I), (II), (III), (IV) and (V) as follows, including cis and trans isomers wherein D1, D2, D3 and D4 are each, independently, one of the following: (a) a hydrocarbon substituent containing a heteroatom with a nonbonding pair of electrons, and where the heteroatom with the nonbonding pair is directly attached to the carbon-carbon double bond, or (b) a hydrocarbon substituent containing a carbon-carbon pi bonding pair, and where the first carbon of the carbon-carbon pi bonding pair is directly bonded to the carbon-carbon double bond; and wherein the R1, R2 and R3 are each, independently, H, a hydrocarbon substituent, or a substituted hydrocarbon substituent; and wherein R1, R2 and R3, each, independently, does not have the same chemical structure as D1, D2, D3 or D4; and wherein the molar ratio of the “coagent(s)” to “free radicals formed from the peroxide(s)” is from 0.5:1 to 5:1; and wherein the coagent selected from structures (I)-(V) does not contain only one phenyl group, or does not contain only one furyl group.07-01-2010
20110031645POLYPROPYLENE FOR USE IN BOPP APPLICATIONS - The present invention relates to polypropylene compositions having a broad molecular weight distribution with a relatively high amount of xylene soluble material. The compositions have an Mw/Mn of five or greater, but preferably greater than 5.5 and more preferably greater than 6.0. The compositions have xylene solubles from 5.0 to 8.0 percent by weight, preferably from 5.5 to 8.0 percent by weight, and more preferably 6.0 to 7.5 percent by weight. The polymers of the present invention are particularly well suited for biaxially oriented polypropylene applications.02-10-2011

20100139373MEMS SENSOR PACKAGE - Methods and apparatus for a MEMS sensor package are provided. In one embodiment, a MEMS sensor package comprises a MEMS sensor; a sensor body permeable to gas leakage at a first leak rate; a backfill gas that pressurizes the sensor body to a backfill pressure; wherein the backfill pressure provides a dampening of the MEMS sensor; and wherein the backfill pressure is set such than any increase in pressure within the sensor body due to gas leakage will not cause a deviation in a Q value of the MEMS sensor beyond a predefined range for at least a specified design service life for the MEMS sensor package.06-10-2010
20100299003REAL-TIME COMPENSATION OF INERTIAL SENSOR BIAS ERRORS UNDER HIGH SPIN RATE CONDITIONS - A method of estimating bias errors for an air vehicle in flight under high spin conditions is provided. The method comprises collecting a first set of data samples at a first time and collecting a second set of data samples at a second time. The first time and the second time occur after deployment of the air vehicle and before canard shock. The first and second sets of data samples comprise roll rate data from at least a first gyroscope and acceleration data from at least a first accelerometer. At least a first estimated accelerometer bias from the first and second sets of data samples is calculated.11-25-2010
