20100231639VARIABLE DATA IMAGING - According to some embodiments, a method for printing an image on a substrate includes applying a clear liftoff material to a surface of the substrate to form a sacrificial pattern, the clear liftoff material being substantially optically clear, and applying a first marking material to the surface of the substrate to form a first static pattern, a portion of the first static pattern arranged directly above a portion of the sacrificial pattern. The method further includes removing the portion of the first static pattern from the surface of the substrate, and removing the sacrificial pattern from the surface of the substrate.09-16-2010
20100295913PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR INK JET ULTRAVIOLET TRANSFUSE - In a tonerless imaging process, an inked image layer jetted on an image receptor is simultaneously transferred and fused to a recording medium. A radiation-curable material is incorporated in the image layer such that irradiation of the image layer cures the radiation-curable material therein. An ink jet printing apparatus for performing the above process is also disclosed.11-25-2010
20110065232PRINTING PROCESS FOR ENHANCED JETTED PERFORMANCE OF SEMICONDUCTOR LAYER - Exemplary embodiments provide materials and processes for forming organic semiconductor features by heating a liquid composition containing semiconductor particles into a Newtonian solution for a uniform deposition.03-17-2011

20110262659METHODS OF LEVELING INK ON SUBSTRATES USING FLASH HEATING AND APPARATUSES USEFUL IN PRINTING - Methods of leveling ink on substrates and apparatuses useful in printing are provided. An exemplary embodiment of the methods includes irradiating ink disposed on a first surface of a porous substrate with radiation emitted by at least one flash lamp. The radiation flash heats the ink to at least a viscosity threshold temperature of the ink to allow the ink to flow laterally on the first surface to produce leveling of the ink. The ink is heated sufficiently rapidly that heat transfer from the ink to the substrate is sufficiently small during the leveling that ink at the substrate interface is cooled to a temperature below the viscosity threshold temperature thereby preventing any significant ink permeation into the substrate from the first surface.10-27-2011

20090123864Ultra Low Melt Toners Comprised of Crystalline Resins - A toner having an amorphous resin, a crystalline resin, and a colorant, wherein the crystalline resin has a melting temperature of at least 70° C. and a recrystallization point of at least 47° C. exhibits improved document offset properties and improved heat cohesion. Annealing the toner further improves the heat cohesion and morphology of the toner.05-14-2009
20100239750LOW POLARITY NANOPARTICLE METAL PASTES FOR PRINTING APPLICATION - A composition that may be used to form an electronic circuit element includes metal nanoparticles in a metal nanoparticle solution, at least a low-polarity additive and a solvent. The low-polarity additive is either a styrenated terpene resin or a polyterpene resin. The composition may be used to form conductive features on a substrate by depositing the composition onto a substrate, and heating the deposited composition on the substrate to a temperature from about 80° C. to about 200° C. to form conductive features on the substrate.09-23-2010
20100247783LOW POLARITY NANO SILVER GELS - A composition that includes an stabilized silver nanoparticles, a gellant and an optional wax. The gellant and the stabilized silver nanoparticles are soluble or dispersable in either an isoparaffinic hydrocarbon solvent, a mineral oil solvent or an alkane solvent.09-30-2010
20100313788SOLID OR PHASE CHANGE INKS WITH IMPROVED PROPERTIES - A solid or phase change inkjet ink incorporating a polar acidic wax is described. The use of polar waxes as an ink additive improves the polarity of the ink and adhesion of the ink to paper. A method for applying the solid or phase change ink incorporating an acidic polar wax additive to form an image is also described.12-16-2010
20110196057CURABLE SOLID INK COMPOSITIONS - A curable solid ink composition including a curable component, a non-curable component including an ethoxylated octylphenol derivative, a photoinitiator, and a colorant. The curable solid ink composition has a viscosity in the range of less than 10 cPs at 90° C., a shrinkage value of less than 3%, and a superior curing rate compared to existing curable solid ink compositions. The ethoxylated octylphenol derivatives may be prepared by reacting an ethoxylated octylphenol, a linear alcohol, and diisocyanates or polyisocyanates.08-11-2011
