20090213269Content Slider - Systems and methods include displaying information associated with various media and/or items of media content. Certain aspects include receiving input that identifies a parameter characterizing one or more media or items of content. A plurality of values for the parameter may be identified, and in some cases, the plurality may be ordered. Each value may be associated with one or more items of content characterized by the parameter. Input that identifies a first set of the plurality may be received, and a monitor may be instructed to display information associated with the first set. Various aspects include the display of a control bar, which may include a slider. In some cases, the receipt of input includes receiving a signal from a remote control. In certain cases, input may be associated with operation of a control bar and/or a slider.08-27-2009
20090216727Viewer User Interface - Systems and methods for displaying media and associated information are disclosed. A hybrid user interface may include aspects of push and pull interfaces. In some embodiments, media may be characterized by parameters and values for the parameters. Parameters and values may be associated with a user's interests, and a user may identify media by searching for media using one or more preferred values of parameters of interest. In some cases, media are presented to a user. Presented media may share values for parameters associated with the user's interests. Certain embodiments deliver (e.g., play) items of media content.08-27-2009
20100192171Set-Top Box - Various embodiments of a set-top box are described. In some embodiments, a set-top box for controlling a display device includes first circuitry configured to control the display of information on the display device, a housing sized to contain the first circuitry, and one or more adjustable grips attached to the housing. The adjustable grips may be adapted to removably attach the set-top box to the display device. In some cases, a set-top box may be adapted to sit atop a display device having a thickness (in a viewing direction) of less than six, three, two, one, or even 0.5 inches. Some embodiments may be shaped to “hang” on a top surface or edge of a display device. Some embodiments include a set-top box having a feature shaped to hook, latch, or otherwise engage with a display device.07-29-2010
