CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR MOUNTING A DEVICE ONTO A SUPPORT ARM - The present invention provides a connection system for attaching and detaching a device to and from a support arm. The connection system is comprised of a key member having a keyed portion. A first section is attachable to a support arm. The first section is dimensioned to receive the keyed portion of the key member. A second section is attachable to a device. The second section is dimensioned to attach to the first section. An actuator is operable to move between a first position and a second position. The second section is locked to the first section when the actuator is in the first position. The second section is detachable from the first section when the key member is locked to the first section and the actuator is in the second position. | 05-12-2011

COMPUTER SYSTEM FOR GENERATING RANDOM SAMPLE IN RESPONSE TO SEARCH QUERY - A computer system includes a data storage device and a first computer processor in communication with the data storage device. At least one input device and a first program memory are in communication with the first computer processor. The computer system also includes a second computer processor in communication with the first computer processor. At least one other input device, a display device and a second program memory are in communication with the second computer processor. The first computer processor produces a random sampling of files from a set of files that match a set of parameters defined using the input device coupled to the first computer processor. The random sampling of files is displayed on the display device coupled to the second computer processor. | 12-10-2009

CAPACITIVE TOUCH SWITCH DISPLAY CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD - A capacitive touch switch display control system includes multiple capacitive touch switches and respective LED displays that light to indicate the status of the system. A microcontroller unit (MCU) interface includes a shared function pin for each touch switch-LED pair. The MCU configures the shared function pin as an analog pin for very brief first time periods during which the MCU disables the LED displays and conducts capacitive sensing of the touch switches connected thereto to determine their status. After the first time period, the MCU enables the LED displays for potential lighting during a second time period. During the second time period, the MCU configures the shared function pin as a digital I/O LED control pin to either light or not light the LED display to indicate the status of the system. The first time period during which the MCU conducts capacitive sensing of the touch switches is sufficiently brief that it does not interfere with LED lighting function. | 01-05-2012

Hydrogen separation membrane on a porous substrate - A hydrogen permeable membrane is disclosed. The membrane is prepared by forming a mixture of metal oxide powder and ceramic oxide powder and a pore former into an article. The article is dried at elevated temperatures and then sintered in a reducing atmosphere to provide a dense hydrogen permeable portion near the surface of the sintered mixture. The dense hydrogen permeable portion has a higher initial concentration of metal than the remainder of the sintered mixture and is present in the range of from about 20 to about 80 percent by volume of the dense hydrogen permeable portion. | 02-11-2010
METHOD FOR FABRICATION OF CERAMIC DIELECTRIC FILMS ON COPPER FOILS - The present invention provides a method for fabricating a ceramic film on a copper foil. The method comprises applying a layer of a sol-gel composition onto a copper foil. The sol-gel composition comprises a precursor of a ceramic material suspended in 2-methoxyethanol. The layer of sol-gel is then dried at a temperature up to about 250° C. The dried layer is then pyrolyzed at a temperature in the range of about 300 to about 450° C. to form a ceramic film from the ceramic precursor. The ceramic film is then crystallized at a temperature in the range of about 600 to about 750° C. The drying, pyrolyzing and crystallizing are performed under a flowing stream of an inert gas. In some embodiments an additional layer of the sol-gel composition is applied onto the ceramic film and the drying, pyrolyzing and crystallizing steps are repeated for the additional layer to build up a thicker ceramic layer on the copper foil. The process can be repeated one or more times if desired. | 12-02-2010

Internet Package Shipping Systems and Methods - Systems and methods for shipping a package from a package sender to an intended recipient, utilizing Internet communications to place shipping orders, request on demand package pickup, maintain and utilize pre-stored profile information, view shipping history, track orders, etc. A package sender with an Internet-accessible computer accesses an Internet site and associated shipping system operated by a shipping service provider. The package sender enters information required for shipping the package, including shipping options and methods for payment, and the shipment transaction is validated. If the transaction is validated, printer indicia are communicated to the customer's computer, which is enabled to locally print a prepaid label containing special machine-readable as well as human-readable indicia. The shipping service provider acquires the package by drop-off, standard pickup or on call pickup, scans the machine readable indicia, verifies other indicia of authenticity, and processes the package in accordance with information encoded on the label. | 12-30-2010
