20090325625Method, apparatus and computer program for power control to mitigate interference - A network determines that a first radio node communicating on a radio resource with a second radio node is interfering with a third radio node communicating on the radio resource with the network. The network manages the interference by controlling transmit power of at least one of the first radio node and the third radio node. It may be by sending a command that indicates an amount by which the first or second radio node is to decrease its transmit power; and/or that indicates an amount by which the third radio node is to boost its transmit power. The network can measure a sounding signal it triggers from the first radio node, measure and compare to a threshold that guarantees a QoS for the third radio node, and compute appropriate backoff or boost values. The first and second radio nodes may be using device-to-device communications or a femto network.12-31-2009
20100009675Setup of device-to-device connection - Disclosed are apparatus, methods and computer programs to establish device-to-device communications in a wireless network. A method includes sending an initiation message from a first device to initiate device-to-device communication with a second device; receiving a message indicating a request for setting up radio resources for device-to-device communication; sending a message to the second device, the message including a request to set up resources for device-to-device communication and, in response to establishing device-to-device communication with the second device using the resources, sending an acknowledgment that device-to-device communication is established.01-14-2010

The event log may include indications related to at least one external event and at least one internal event. The method may further include providing notification of the selected indications via display of at least a portion of the event log. An apparatus and computer program product corresponding to the method are also provided.04-15-2010
20100095221METHOD, APPARATUS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR PROVIDING CONFIGURATION OF A MOBILE DEVICE - A method for providing mobile device configuration may include a processor and a memory storing executable instructions that in response to execution by the processor cause the apparatus to at least perform at least receiving, remote from a mobile terminal, indications of configuration information defining appearance related features for a display of the mobile terminal, enabling provision of feedback to a user of the mobile terminal regarding the appearance related features, and providing the configuration information to the mobile terminal. A corresponding method and computer program product are also provided.04-15-2010
20100261469APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MODE SELECTION FOR DEVICE-TO-DEVICE COMMUNICATIONS - In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, a method is disclosed that comprises measuring a first link quality of a first link based at least in part on a first power value; measuring a second link quality of a second link based at least in part on a second power value; and determining a suitable device-to-device (D2D) mode for a D2D connection based at least in part on the first link quality, the second link quality, and one or more D2D user equipment (UE) constraints.10-14-2010
20100268775METHOD, APPARATUS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR PROVIDING AN INDICATION OF DEVICE TO DEVICE COMMUNICATION AVAILABILITY - An apparatus for providing an indication of device to device communication capability may include a processor and a memory storing executable instructions. In response to execution of the instructions by the processor, the apparatus may perform at least receiving an indication with respect to status of an application or a request by the application, determining availability of a device to device connection associated with peer communication, and providing a notification to the application indicative of the availability of the device to device connection to the peer. A corresponding method and computer program product are also provided.10-21-2010
20100275087STATUS REPORT MESSAGES FOR MULTI-LAYER ARQ PROTOCOL - Disclosed herein is a method comprising detecting, by a relay node in a wireless network, an inner automatic repeat request (ARQ) error on a local link of the wireless network, and sending, in response to the detecting, an outer ARQ status report identifying one or more packets that were not successfully received, the outer ARQ status report including an originating node ID identifying the relay node as an originator of the outer ARQ status report.10-28-2010
20100285825Communication - Various apparatuses, methods and computer programs are provided. A first apparatus includes: a controller configured to control transmitter circuitry to transmit, according to a first communication protocol, a first request to a second apparatus, the first request being for assisting a wireless communication link, according to a second communication protocol, to be established between the apparatus and a third apparatus. In response to receiving the first request, the second apparatus transmits a second request to the third apparatus. The third apparatus is configured to transmit signals at a rate, each signal being for enabling a wireless communication link to be established between the third apparatus and another apparatus (such as the first apparatus). In response to receipt of the second request, the third apparatus changes the rate at which the signals are transmitted.11-11-2010
20100329134FEEDBACK AND LINK ADAPTATION TECHNIQUES FOR WIRELESS NETWORKS - Various example embodiments are disclosed relating to feedback and link adaptation techniques for wireless networks. According to an example embodiment, an apparatus may include a processor or controller. The controller may be configured to determine a channel quality indication (CQI) value for each of a plurality of wireless sub-channels, discard any of the CQI values older than a threshold time, leaving a set of current CQI values, determine a percentile CQI value based on the set of current CQI values, and transmit the percentile CQI value to an infrastructure node. The infrastructure node, may, for example, determine or select one or more data transmission parameters, such as a modulation scheme and/or coding rate, based at least in part on the received percentile CQI value.12-30-2010
