20090076900METHOD AND SYSTEM OF FACILITATING THE SALE OF A LEGAL RIGHT TO PERMANENTLY USE PART OF AN OCEAN CRUISER - The method of the present invention facilitates the sale of a right to permanently use a portion of an ocean cruiser. The method comprises making an original offer for sale to a purchaser of a right in the ocean cruiser, said right having a first present monetary value. The offer is linked to an offer for sale of a zero coupon bond having a redemption value payable after a certain number of years, said zero coupon bond having a second present monetary value which in a preferred embodiment is equal to the first present monetary value of the share.03-19-2009

20080290218PLASMA ACTUATOR SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE WITH A WEAPONS BAY ON A HIGH SPEED MOBILE PLATFORM - A system and method for controlling a freestream air flow over a surface of an airborne mobile platform, for example an aircraft. In one implementation the system includes a plurality of plasma actuators used on an undersurface of a fuselage of an aircraft upstream of a weapons bay of the aircraft. When the plasma actuators are energized an induced flow is created adjacent the actuators. The induced flow operates to deflect the shear layer created when the freestream air flow moves over the weapons bay (while the bay doors are open), away from the weapons bay. This significantly reduces the oscillating acoustic pressure waves that would normally be produced if the shear layer turns into the weapons bay. The system and method significantly reduces acoustic noise inside the weapons bay and improves separation of ordnance from the weapons bay.11-27-2008
20100000991THERMALLY ACTIVATED VARIABLE STIFFNESS COMPOSITES FOR AIRCRAFT SEALS - An apparatus has a first structure, a second structure, and an activated seal. The second structure has a first position adjacent to the first structure such that the first structure is not in contact with the second structure. The activated seal is attached to at least one of the first structure and the second structure. The activated seal has a variable stiffness that may be changed in response to a stimuli such that the activated seal is capable of being deformed when at least one of the first structure and the second structure are moved relative to each other.01-07-2010
20100004799Systems and Methods for Alleviating Aircraft Loads with Plasma Actuators - Systems and methods for alleviating aircraft loads with plasma actuators are disclosed. A method for operating an aircraft in accordance with a particular embodiment includes receiving an input corresponding to an aircraft component structural response to an aerodynamic load. The method can further include, based at least in part on the input corresponding to the aircraft component's structural response, reducing the structural response to the aerodynamic load by activating at least one plasma actuator carried by the aircraft, in accordance with one or more activation parameters.01-07-2010

20110004182FASTENER TAB AND RELATED METHOD - A fastener tab including a fastening-tape-segment, a hook-tape-segment, a release-tape-segment, and an antipeel-tape-segment, with the release-tape-segment and the antipeel-tape-segment being formed from a single tape. The antipeel-tape-segment is configured to prevent a susceptible leading edge of an anchoring zone of the release-tape-segment from being subjected to peel-initiating forces during deployment of the fastener tab. An adhesive area can be included to releasably bond a fastening deployment zone and the release anchoring zone together to minimize pre-deployment flagging.01-06-2011
