20080305883GOLF CLUB GRIP - The present invention is directed to a golf club grip with the look and feel of jelly or other aesthetically pleasing substances. More particularly, the grip is fabricated using a silicone rubber composition comprising polydimethylsiloxane, which provides the grip with a soft feel. In an innovative aspect of the present invention, an iterative method is used to add color pigments to the silicone rubber composition so that the grip's color matches the aesthetically pleasing colors of common substances such as jelly. In yet another aspect of the invention, the grip is translucent, allowing indicia to be formed underneath its outer surface.12-11-2008
20080305884GOLF CLUB GRIP - The present invention is directed to a method of displaying indicia on a golf club shaft having a substantially translucent grip. The indicia are permanently formed on an outer surface of the shaft by chemical etching, bead blasting, stamping, and the like. The grip is held on top of the gripping end of a shaft by a translucent glue or liquid adhesive. The grip is made from a rubber base or synthetic material. The swing analysis apparatus include video cameras for obtaining video images of a golfer swinging a golf club, such as a putter, at a golf ball. Images obtained from the video cameras may then be analyzed to determine what golf club dimensions will provide improved results in combination with the golfer's individual swing characteristics. The apparatus may additionally include a golf club having predetermined dimensions. When such a golf club is included, images from the video cameras may be analyzed to determine how the golf club of known dimensions must be adjusted to provide the golfer with desirable swing results. The apparatus may also include a method for confirming the dimensions that it is believed will provide a golfer with improve swing results.09-03-2009
