20080205022Toolless alignment, retention, connection, termination and testing on printed circuit boards - Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for testing and mounting a PCB in a device. A PCB may be placed on one or more standoffs so that a head portion of the standoff protrudes from one or more apertures of the PCB. A push-pin type standoff cap may then be placed on the protruding heads to mechanically restrain the PCB to the standoffs. Furthermore, one or more cables may be coupled with the standoff caps to provide power or test signals to one or more connector pads on the PCB. Therefore, the standoff caps provide a system for aligning, retaining, connecting, terminating, and testing printed circuit boards.08-28-2008

Each probe block also includes a plurality of spring loaded pogo pins. Each pogo pin has a first end that extends to the connection face and a second end that protrudes from the measurement face. The two probe blocks are attached to a top plate. The top plate is attached to a face of each probe block opposite to the measurement face of the probe block.04-30-2009
20090174982CONTROLLING THE FLOW OF ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CURRENTS - A method and system for controlling the electrical connection between the metallic covers and the underlying metal chassis of an electrical system by the select placement of impedances in a current control connector. The current control connector places an impedance, capable of controlling electrostatic discharge (ESD) currents, between the covers and the underlying chassis. The current control connector comprises a number of metallic and dielectric components. Each of these components is ideally chosen such that the structure and composition of each component contributes to an overall functionality of the current control connector and an ability to control the ESD current flow. The relative placement of the components of the current control connector allows the current control connector to eliminate current flow along a number of paths but control the current flow along a preferred path. Thus, the current control connector prevents damage to the internal electrical system.07-09-2009
20090268858DUAL CLOCK SPREAD FOR LOW CLOCK EMISSIONS WITH RECOVERY - A method and apparatus provides for the generation and recovery of a stable clock signal having harmonic emission suppressions using dual spread spectrum clock signals. The transmission frequencies of non-mixed, spread spectrum lower frequency clock signals may be varied and, upon receipt of these non-mixed signals, they are mixed into sum and difference signals. The sum signal thus generated is representative of the desired clock signal to be recovered. Such conditioning of the non-mixed signals need only occur within the receiver, thereby allow the channel that transmits the non-mixed lower frequency clock signals to the receiver to be lower bandwidth than would be required to carry the final, recovered, and higher frequency clock signal produced by the receiver.10-29-2009
20100226090TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE CABINET - An electronic device cabinet includes a first temperature control system positioned to direct a conditioned airflow into a first electronic device storage zone of the cabinet and a second temperature control system positioned to direct a conditioned airflow into a second electronic device storage zone of the cabinet. The second temperature control system includes a second plurality of vortex tubes having a compressed air inlet and a second cooling air outlet that guides cooling air into the second device storage zone. A controller selectively delivers compressed air to respective ones of the first and second temperature control systems upon sensing a demand for cooling in corresponding ones of the first and second electronic device storage zones.09-09-2010
20100277182Implementing A Coded Time Domain Transmission Distance Meter - A method and circuit for implementing a coded time domain transmission distance meter, and a design structure on which the subject circuit resides are provided. A first transmitter module connected to a cable at a first point or power outlet, generates and sends a testing coded pulse onto the power cable. A second receiver module connected to the cable at a second point, receives the testing coded pulse, and returns a receiver response coded pulse to the transmitter module. The first transmitter module determines the round-trip elapsed time, subtracts a receiver latency time, and calculates a distance to the second receiver module. Encoded in the testing coded pulse are data representing the last calculated distance.
