20090302626Robust Compliant Adaptive Grasper and Method of Manufacturing Same - A mechanical grasping system that is both simple to fabricate and operate and robust. A multi-fingered hand may be driven by a single actuator, yet can grasp objects spanning a wide range of size, shape, and mass. The hand may be constructed using polymer-based Shape Deposition Manufacturing, with joints formed by elastomeric flexures and actuator and sensor components embedded in tough rigid polymers. The passively compliant, adaptive hand has superior robustness properties, able to withstand large impacts without damage and capable of grasping objects in the presence of large positioning errors, appropriate for use in unstructured and/or human environments.12-10-2009

20090313345CLEARINGHOUSE FOR MESSAGES BETWEEN DISPARATE NETWORKS - A system and method are directed towards managing interoperability between disparate IM networks. A clearinghouse server is provided that receives IM messages from disparate IM networks. The clearinghouse server examines the IM message to determine it is in a compatible protocol for a destination IM network. If the IM message is incompatible a translation service is used to translate the message into a compatible protocol. The translation service further determines if the destination IM network supports a feature employed by the received IM message. If the feature is supported or can be translated to a supported feature, the translation service will also perform the feature translation. Otherwise, the translation service may return an error message indicating that the received IM message includes an unsupported feature for the destination IM network. Upon satisfactory translation, the clearinghouse server forwards the translated IM message towards the destination IM network.12-17-2009

20090193118Non-centralized network device management using console communications apparatus - A apparatus for the management of one or more wide area or local area network connected devices by a collocated managing device. The managing device includes communications connectivity to each of the managed devices via a console connection and optionally via shared local area network connections. Additionally, the managing device includes a control system and a database. The device is designed to operate securely and operate autonomously or coupled with an external device, for example a management system, or a user.07-30-2009
20110055367SERIAL PORT FORWARDING OVER SECURE SHELL FOR SECURE REMOTE MANAGEMENT OF NETWORKED DEVICES - A system and method for the management of one or more wide area or local area network connected devices by a collocated managing device. The managing device uses serial port forwarding over a secure connection, such as a secure shell connection, to allow a centrally located administrative user to control the managed device.03-03-2011
20110055899SECURE REMOTE MANAGEMENT OF NETWORK DEVICES WITH LOCAL PROCESSING AND SECURE SHELL FOR REMOTE DISTRIBUTION OF INFORMATION - A system and method for the management of one or more wide area or local area network connected devices by a collocated managing device. The managing device forwards information in graphical form using a secure connection to a remotely located administrative user workstation.03-03-2011

20110055696GLOBE CONTAINER - A globe container includes a front-side spherical cap. A plurality of content items are arranged with a convex three-dimensional perspective on the front-side spherical cap. The globe container has a changeable virtual orientation that determines which of the plurality of content items are arranged with the convex three-dimensional perspective on the front-side spherical cap. The globe container allows selection of any of the content items displayed on the front-side spherical cap.03-03-2011

20090076439Inflation System for Balloon Catheter - The present invention is directed towards an inflation system for a balloon catheter that automatically determines and outputs a balloon diameter. The present invention is also directed towards an inflation system that automatically controls the surgical procedure using the balloon diameter.03-19-2009
20090076446ADJUSTABLE CATHETER FOR DILATION IN THE EAR, NOSE OR THROAT - The improved balloon catheter includes a first tubular segment, which has multiple zones of differing malleability along its length. The catheter further includes a coaxially aligned hypotube formed of a malleable material, which is positioned within the lumen of the first tubular segment and extends from the distal end of the first tubular segment. In one embodiment the hypotube runs the length of the first tubular segment; while in another embodiment, the hypotube runs along only a portion of the length of the first tubular segment. A portion of the outer circumferential surface of the hypotube is permanently affixed and sealed to an inner circumferential surface of the first tubular segment in the vicinity of the distal end of the first tubular segment. The outer circumference of the distal end of the first tubular segment is gently tapered along its length so as to smoothly transition to the circumference of the hypotube. The hypotube terminates with an atraumatic tip and includes a balloon dilator affixed near the tip. An aperture near the tip of the hypotube fluidly connects the interior of the balloon with the lumen of the hypotube enabling the balloon to selectively expand and contract.03-19-2009
20090088728MALLEABLE SLEEVE FOR BALLOON CATHETER AND ENDOSCOPIC SURGICAL METHOD - The present invention is directed towards a malleable sleeve used in conjunction with a multi-lumen catheter with an expandable device, such as a balloon, incorporated into its surface. The malleable sleeve allows the catheter to be pre-formed into a shape that corresponds with the shape of the nasal passageway. The present invention also covers endoscopic surgical methods utilizing the malleable sleeve.04-02-2009

20110035593ESTABLISHING SECURE MUTUAL TRUST USING AN INSECURE PASSWORD - A process for establishing secure mutual trust includes generating a one-time-password. The one-time-password is transferred between the devices in a communication occurring off of the network. Each device generates a set of authenticators by hashing a plurality of sub-strings of the password and the device's authentication certificate with a respective set of nonces. The devices exchange the respective sets of authenticators. Each device then alternates revealing its respective set of nonces and its authentication certificate in a multi-stage process. The devices re-calculate the authenticators based upon the respective set of nonces and authentication certificate revealed by the other device along with the one-time-password sub-strings that it posses. If each device determines that the authenticators re-calculated by the given device matches the authenticators previously received from the other device, secure mutual trust is established.02-10-2011
