20110148899Image Quality Configuration Apparatus, System and Method - A method includes detecting one of an application access or a file type access, and configuring, in response to detecting the application or file type access, automatically without user interaction, a display system in an image quality configuration for the application or the file type where the image quality configuration is based on providing best image quality with respect to the application or the file type. Configuring the display system in an image quality configuration, may involve determining that a profile associated with the application or associated with the file type is stored in memory, and configuring the display system according to the profile. The method may adjust at least one anti-aliasing parameter or at least one anisotropic filter parameter. The method may monitor an operating system to obtain an indication that an application has been accessed or that a file type has been accessed.06-23-2011

20090285163Resource Assignment Systems and Methods - In a wireless communication system, a base station assigns resources to mobile stations using indices. Each index is associated with an assignment schedule for assigning resources. Once the base station determines an assignment schedule to assign particular resources, it encodes the schedule into an index and transmits it. A mobile station receives the index and decodes it to recover the assignment schedule. Both the base station and the mobile station may use look-up tables and/or algorithms for storing or generating indices associated with assignment schedules. To assign resources so as to indicate transmission characteristics over the resources, the base station transmits assignment blocks. Each assignment block indicates original transmission, retransmission, persistent assignment, non-persistent assignment, HARQ signaling, RAS-HARQ signaling, DRCH assignment, and/or LRCH assignment.11-19-2009
20110299615SYSTEMS FOR PROCESSING DIFFERENTIATED HIERARCHICAL MODULTATION USED IN RADIO FREQUENCY COMMUNICATIONS - The present invention employs hierarchical modulation to simultaneously transmit data over different modulation layers using a carrier RF signal. Each modulation layer may be of a higher or lower order than the other modulation layers. Certain embodiments of the present invention may transmit different information on the different modulation layers. Other embodiments of the present invention may use the different layers for processing information differently.12-08-2011
20120106410MODULATION DIVISION MULTIPLE ACCESS - The present invention employs hierarchical modulation to simultaneously transmit information on different modulation layers using a carrier RF signal. Initially, first data to be transmitted is assigned to a first modulation layer and second data is assigned to a second modulation layer. In one embodiment of the present invention, the first and second data are assigned based on reliability criteria. The first and second modulation layers are hierarchical modulation layers of the carrier RF signal. Once assigned, the first data is transmitted using the first modulation layer of the carrier RF signal and the second data is transmitted using the second modulation layer of the carrier RF signal. In one embodiment of the present invention, information may be transmitted to one end user using one modulation layer, and information may be transmitted to a different end user using a different modulation layer.05-03-2012

20090141668MEDIA ACCESS CONTROL PROTOCOL FOR MULTI-HOP NETWORK SYSTEMS AND METHOD THEREFORE - A method and system for wireless communication in which a plurality of media access control (“MAC”) packet data units (“PDUs”) corresponding to a plurality of wireless communication connections are received. The plurality of MAC PDUs is grouped into a relay packet and the relay packet is transmitted. Such grouping and transmission of the relay packet is performed by one or more relay nodes. The traffic control for the transmission can also be based on centralized or decentralized routing control and/or centralized or decentralized QoS control.06-04-2009

20080227708Methods Of Attenuating Prostate Tumor Growth By Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein-3 (IGFBP-3) - Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein-3 (IGFBP-3) inhibits cell growth and promotes apoptosis by sequestering free Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF), and also demonstrates IGF-independent, pro-apoptotic, anti-proliferative effects on prostate cancer cells. Prostate tumor size was significantly attenuated in transgenic mice over-expressing IGFBP-3 compared with wild-type mice. In addition, a marked reduction in late-stage tumor growth was apparent in transgenic mice over expressing mutant-IGFBP-3 indicating that the IGF-independent effects of IGFBP-3 are related to inhibiting tumor progression.09-18-2008

20110181117POWER SWITCHING FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICE TEST EQUIPMENT - An apparatus, system and method are provided for testing a battery-powered electronic device-under-test in a transport frame engaged with a test fixture. A transport frame power supply is arranged to provide power to the DUT in a pre-testing stage. A switching circuit is arranged to switch from the transport frame power supply to a test fixture power supply in response to receiving a power switching signal indicating satisfaction of a pre-testing condition. Power from the test fixture power supply can then be switched back to the first transport frame, or to a second transport frame, to begin testing a second DUT. The ability to start a DUT test without having to wait for the DUT to boot-up in the test fixture reduces test time and increases efficiency of use of test equipment.07-28-2011
