20130191170 | KIOSK FOR PROVIDING INSURANCE SERVICES AND PRODUCTS - A public access kiosk that provides direct, real-time communication between customers and licensed insurance agents, customer service representatives, or other insurance company representatives or agents. Communication may be voice only, with or without an avatar, but also may comprise face-to-face video. The kiosk is connected to the Internet or other network, thereby providing voice, video, and other data to be transmitted in real time and providing around-the-clock, automated (semi or fully) self-service, with an option for a fully supported, face-to-face in-office agency experience. The kiosk may be used to provide insurance and other services, including but not limited to providing a “lightning quote” for insurance in five minutes or less, and in some variations, in 60 seconds or less. A “lightning quote” also may be provided through the Internet or a web site, or other means. | 07-25-2013 |

20090093493 | 1-PHENYLALCOXY-2-BETA-PHENYLETHYL DERIVATIVES AS P-GLYCOPROTEIN (P-GP) INHIBITORS USEFUL IN DRUG RESISTANCE EVENTS - The invention relates to a new class of compounds, which are 1-phenylalcoxy-2-β-phenylethyl derivatives, as P-glycoprotein (P-GP) inhibitors. These compounds are useful in drug resistance events. They have been shown able to inhibit in a dose-dependent manner Glycoprotein-P (P-gp) activity in cell lines in which the expression of said glycoprotein is very high, like Caco-2 (human colon cancer) cells and MCF7/Adr (adriamycin-resistant human breast carcinoma) cells. The invention also relates to methods of production and the utilization of such compounds as medicaments useful in the treatment of states linked to the difficulty for some drugs to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and generally within the context of the problems of drug resistance induced by chemotherapy agents. | 04-09-2009 |

20110167794 | Multi-Functional Pulse-Divided Rocket - A multi-pulse rocket is equipped with a thermally insulating barrier that serves as a rupture disk or a movable plug or plate separating staged propellant grains. When a rupture disk it used, the disk can be equipped with a pyrotechnic actuator to weaken the disk upon command, enabling the propellant grain on the fore side of the disk to burst the disk at a relatively low pressure when ignition of the propellant grain is needed for additional thrust. Rupturing of the disk can also be controlled by attitude maneuvering ports on the fore side of the barrier whose open or closed conditions are controlled by independently operable closures. When a movable plug is used, the plug is movable between a closed position separating rocket chamber into subchambers isolating the propellant grains from each other and an open position allowing the flow of combustion gas between the two subchambers to achieve additional axial thrust. In all cases, the barrier when intact serves to contain both propellant grains regardless of whether one or both is ignited. The propellant grain on the fore side of the barrier can thus be used for either axial thrust augmentation or for attitude maneuvering. | 07-14-2011 |

20110218417 | BRAIN PROBE ADAPTED TO BE INTRODUCED THROUGH A CANULA - A bio-probe having a base and a tip and also including a set of at least four conductors extending longitudinally along the bio-probe, the conductors being coated with dielectric material. Also, at least four of the conductors define a spot where the dielectric material has been removed, thereby defining an electrical contact site. In addition, the bio-probe is less than 2.5 mm thick in its greatest transverse dimension along a longitudinal portion extending from the tip to a point 6 cm proximal of the tip. | 09-08-2011 |

20130080180 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SENDER PAID DATA DELIVERY - A method and apparatus for providing an option for sender paid data delivery to an endpoint device in a communications network are disclosed. For example, the method sends a request for a content by a subscriber using the endpoint device, receives a plurality of delivery options, wherein one of the plurality of delivery options comprises an option to have a content provider pay for a delivery of the content, selects one delivery option from the plurality of delivery options, and receives the content based upon the one delivery option selected from the plurality of delivery options. | 03-28-2013 |

20100166937 | SHELF-STABLE, NON-ALCOHOLIC, HAZE-FREE MALT BEVERAGE AND METHODS - A method of making a haze-free nonalcoholic malt beverage is disclosed. The method includes forming a malt solution containing a coagulant and water, adjusting the pH of the malt solution so that the pH of the malt solution is less than about 4.0 and coagulating the protein from the malt extract in the malt solution. The coagulated protein from the malt solution is removed to form a refreshing haze-free malt beverage. A method of making a shelf-stable beverage is also disclosed. The method includes carbonating a solution with more than about 1.5 volumes of carbon dioxide per volume of finished beverage; adding an acidulant to the solution so that the finished beverage has a pH of from about 2.5 to about 4.0; and adding to the solution a chemical preservative. Also, a haze-free and shelf-stable nonalcoholic malt beverage is disclosed. | 07-01-2010 |

20140268909 | METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTROL OF DC-DC CONVERTERS - Switching regulator methods and systems for supplying output current at a regulated voltage level to a load. The regulator has a primary side that is galvanically isolated from a secondary side. The regulator includes a transformer having a primary winding on the primary side and a secondary winding on the secondary side, coupled to a load. A switch, coupled to the primary winding, controls current flow through the primary winding. A first feedback control loop, responsive only to primary side signal values, regulates a constant average voltage at the output node. An optional second feedback control loop, responsive only to primary side signal values, reduces voltage ringing at the output node. | 09-18-2014 |
