| 20110118934 | PERIPHERAL ACCESS DEVICES AND SENSORS FOR USE WITH VEHICLE TELEMATICS DEVICES AND SYSTEMS - A telematics method and system includes, and uses, a telematics device with a controller in communication with a diagnostic system configured to receive diagnostic information from a host vehicle; a position-locating system configured to determine location information of the host vehicle; a wireless transceiver configured to transmit and receive information through a wireless network to and from at least one Internet-accessible website; and, a communication interface including at least a short range wireless interface link. The telematics device may be embodied in an access device, which may include the position-locating system. The access device may be a smartphone, or similar device, that retrieves/transmits diagnostic data/information, and other data/information to/from the vehicle via the short range wireless link. The access device performs various telematics device functions; it uses a long range wireless interface to communicate diagnostic and related information to a central host computer, and to receive related information from same. | 05-19-2011 |

| 20110247655 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SANITIZING PRODUCE IN AN ACIDIC BATH - Methods and systems are disclosed for treating a produce item with a treatment solution that includes water and a first and second treatment acid. The disclosed methods and systems may be particularly beneficial when used to sanitize the produce item of pathogens and/or to maintain the quality of the produce item. A disclosed treatment method includes measuring an amount of water; measuring an amount of a first treatment acid; measuring an amount of a second treatment acid; mixing the water, the first treatment acid, and the second treatment acid to form a treatment-solution concentrate; diluting a quantity of the treatment-solution concentrate to form a treatment solution; and contacting an exterior surface of the produce item with a quantity of the treatment solution. | 10-13-2011 |

| 20090306534 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREDICTING EFFECTIVENESS IN THE TREATMENT OF PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS, INCLUDING DEPRESSION - The present invention pertains to the evaluation and/or treatment of psychopathological diseases. In one aspect, information regarding brain activity, coupled with behavior tests (e.g., determining performance in a computer-based task), may be used to predict the response of a subject to psychological treatment, e.g., with a psychoactive drug. For example, the subject may be one suffering from depression, or other disturbances of the rostral anterior cingulate cortex. Another aspect of the present invention is directed to methods for analyzing neurobiological predictors through integration of information gathered from one or more levels of analyses: (1) behavior, (2) brain function, and/or (3) genes. In one aspect, the methods of the present invention can comprise any one of these components (i.e., behavior, brain function, and genes), or a combination of two or more of these components, and/or other components. Through these methods, development of novel algorithms for improving the ability to identify biological surrogate markers of treatment response are disclosed, according to certain embodiments of the invention. Still other aspects of the present invention are directed to systems and methods for implementing such evaluation techniques, analyzing such evaluation techniques, promotion of such evaluation techniques, and the like. | 12-10-2009 |
