20090014491Packet structure, such as for a film strip - The packet structure includes an envelope structure and a tear structure therein. The tear structure provides for tearing of a specific section of the envelope structure to gain access to a film strip which is stored within an internal cavity in the envelope structure. The tear structure has a reduced resistance to tearing relative to an adjoining portion of the envelope structure. The reduced resistance to tearing directs the tearing of the envelope structure to a specific section thereof. The tear structure may alternatively have a pull-string attached within the envelope structure and extending through an aperture therein to a location outside of the envelope structure. The location of the aperture and attachment of the pull-string within the envelope structure directs the tearing of the envelope structure to a specific section thereof.01-15-2009

20110208577Online Offer Distribution System And Mehtod - An online offer distribution system may convey offer information relating to an offer selected from an offer supply database. The offer information may be conveyed in an electronic form, such as a web page, that may be accessed by a consumer on a client device. Upon receiving a request to print an offer document corresponding to the offer, the system may generate the offer document including at least a portion of the offer information and time indicating indicia associated with the request to print. The time indicating indicia may be a quasi-unique identifier corresponding to a time the request to print is received or the offer document is transmitted to the client device for printing. The time indicating indicia may be encrypted and incorporated into the offer document as an alphanumeric code, barcode, or both.08-25-2011

20090006291Computer-implemented land planning system and method designed to generate at least one conceptual fit solution to a user-defined land development problem - A computer-implemented land planning system is designed to generate at least one conceptual fit solution to a user-defined land development problem. The system electronically creates at least one candidate solution to the land development problem. The candidate solution incorporates a number of engineering measurements applicable in development of an undeveloped land site. A fitness function quantitatively evaluates the candidate solution based on its fitness. A heuristic problem-solving strategy manipulates the engineering measurements of the candidate solution to achieve a more quantitatively fit solution to the land development problem. A computer output device outputs to a user documentation illustrating the fit solution to the land development problem.01-01-2009

20110073656Methods and Apparatus for Imaging Bar Code Scanning - Improved systems and techniques for imaging bar code processing. One or more cameras are deployed in a bar code scanner, oriented so that an imaging device of each camera is oriented such that rows of data elements in the imaging device are oriented nonorthogonally with respect to a preferred orientation of a bar code. One or more imaging devices captures bar code data representing light and dark spaces of the bar code. The captured bar code data is analyzed to create one or more rows of data completely transecting the bar code, and the rows of data are processed to generate a scan signal which is in turn processed to extract bar code data.03-31-2011

20100305873Method and Apparatus for Spectral Deconvolution of Detector Spectra - Embodiments of the invention pertain to a method and apparatus for spectral deconvolution of detector spectra. In a specific embodiment, the method can be applied to sodium iodide scintillation detector spectra. An adaptive chi-processed (ACHIP) denoising technique can be used to remove the results of stochastic noise from low-count detector spectra. Embodiments of the ACHIP denoising algorithm can be used as a stand alone tool for rapid processing of one dimensional data with a Poisson noise component. In a specific embodiment, the denoising technique can be combined with the spectral deconvolution method. Embodiments of the denoising technique and embodiments of the deconvolution method can be applied to any detector material that provides a radiation spectrum. Specific embodiments can incorporate one or more of the following for spectral deconvolution: denoising, background subtraction, detector response function generation, and subtraction of detector response functions. Photopeaks can be rapidly identified, starting at the high-energy end of the spectrum. The detector response functions can be estimated for photopeaks with a combination of Monte Carlo simulations and simple transformations.12-02-2010
