20080283163Aluminum Alloy Products Having Improved Property Combinations and Method for Artificially Aging Same - Aluminum alloy products about 4 inches thick or less that possesses the ability to achieve, when solution heat treated, quenched, and artificially aged, and in parts made from the products, an improved combination of strength, fracture toughness and corrosion resistance, the alloy consisting essentially of: about 6.8 to about 8.5 wt. % Zn, about 1.5 to about 2.00 wt. % Mg, about 1.75 to about 2.3 wt. % Cu; about 0.05 to about 0.3 wt. % Zr, less than about 0.1 wt. % Mn, less than about 0.05 wt. % Cr, the balance Al, incidental elements and impurities and a method for making same. The invention alloy is useful in making structural members for commercial airplanes including, but not limited to, upper wing skins and stringers, spar caps, spar webs and ribs of either built-up or integral construction. The invention alloy may be aged by 2 or 3 step practices while exceeding the SCC requirements for applications for which the invention alloy is primarily intended. The flexibility of the invention in this regard is useful for its application in multi-alloy or multi-material systems joined by welding or bonding and subsequently aged.11-20-2008

20110054549Reducing instrument for spinal surgery - An instrument is provided for reduction of a rod or other elongated member into an implant, such as a bone screw. In one embodiment, such an instrument includes a rod adjusting assembly pivotably attached to an implant holding assembly. The implant holding assembly can be pivotably connected to an implant, and the rod adjusting assembly is operable to move a rod toward or away from the implant holding assembly. In that embodiment, several motions are possible by the instrument so that relatively small or large movements of a rod with respect to an implant may be made.03-03-2011

20100042540Bill Payment Card Method and System - The invention is directed to a system and method for managing a payment system. The method generally comprises activating a payment card, associating a value with the payment card, associating at least one third party with the bill payment card, receiving a request from a bill payment card user to transfer at least some of the value to a selected third party, the request comprising receiving an identifier associated with the payment card and receiving an indication of an amount of value to transfer, and transferring at least some of the value to the selected third party. Systems of the invention may generally comprise one or more payment cards, a database storing a plurality of records comprising information related to the payment card; one or more communication devices; and a processor in communication with the database and in selective communication with the communication device.02-18-2010
20100096449CAUSE GIFT CARD PLATFORM FOR PROVIDING REDEMPTION OF FUNDS ACROSS MULTIPLE UNAFFILIATED ENTITIES - A cause gift card system allows for redemption of a gift card with one or more unaffiliated organizations—including both for-profit and not for-profit entities. The system automatically distributes any unredeemed funds to participating entities associated with the particular cause gift card type per defined business rules. The system provides for purchase of cause gift cards through retail merchants, websites, or other authorized sellers for either fixed denominations or variable amounts. The recipient can elect to direct the funds, in whole or in part, to one of a basket of pre-determined organizations that are specific to each cause gift card type, for example, environmental services, health and wellness, political actions, and more.04-22-2010
20100299196Rebate card system - A method and system for using a rebate card are disclosed. The method may comprise initiating a purchase transaction for one or more products at a point of sale, determining whether the purchase transaction qualifies for a rebate, determining a rebate value based on the purchase transaction and the rebate, activating a rebate value in a rebate card account associated with a rebate card based on the determining action, and delivering the rebate card to a customer of the one or more products during the purchase transaction.11-25-2010
20110057025GENERATION, MANAGEMENT AND USAGE OF ON-DEMAND PAYMENT IDS - There is disclosed a method, computer program and system that support purchase transactions at merchants via a Payment ID generated on-demand and funded with a specific consumer-requested amount. The Payment ID, which could include but is not limited to a gift card ID, is then leveraged to complete a transaction at a merchant's point of sale (POS) system via the existing methods and processes inherent in the POS system. Also disclosed are related mechanisms to manage a secure database of Payment IDs and dynamically adjust the value tied to Payment IDs to account for any value due the customer from the merchant or other involved party.03-10-2011
