20100281785 | Roof Spoiler - Disclosed is a roof spoiler that effectively disrupts the attached flow of wind upon a roof surface. This spoiler has a stowed position, whereby it is almost completely out of the view of passersby. It also has a deployed position, wherein a barrier is projected vertically, or substantially vertically, so as to disrupt the flow of air over the roof surface. This spoiler utilizes a hinged design to move between these two positions. The spoiler is specially designed to operate in conjunction with a gutter mounted along the leading edge of the roof. In the stowed position, a portion of the spoiler covers the open gutter. In one embodiment, the spoiler is L-shaped to facilitate its stability in the deployed position. | 11-11-2010 |
20110000143 | Symmetric Roof Spoiler - Disclosed is a roof spoiler that effectively disrupts the attached flow of wind on a roof surface. Preferably, the spoiler is specially designed for installation with a gutter mounted on the roof fascia or along the leading edge of the roof. This spoiler utilizes a hinged design to move between two operating positions. The first position is a stowed position, whereby the spoiler extends beyond the gutter and is designed to be nearly invisible to passersby. In the stowed position, a portion of the spoiler covers the outer edge of the gutter (if present). A second portion of the spoiler may extend outward from the gutter. The second position is a deployed position, wherein a barrier is projected vertically, or substantially vertically, so as to disrupt the flow of air over the roof surface. In one embodiment, the spoiler rests upon the roof covering when in the deployed position. In another embodiment, the spoiler rests near or against the gutter or holding bracket. In one embodiment, a bracketing system, or support structure, is placed around an existing gutter. The roof spoiler is then pivotally attached to this support structure. In another embodiment, the support structure attaches directly to the gutter. | 01-06-2011 |

20130043768 | ULTRASOUND TRANSDUCER ARRAY - An ultrasonic transducer array and method of making an ultrasonic transducer array. The array comprising a plurality of individual array elements made from a piezoelectric composite which is made from a plurality of individual piezoelectric segments; a passive filler between the piezoelectric segments; and, one or more electrodes for driving the array elements formed from the piezoelectric segments; wherein the spatial pattern of the piezoelectric segments of the piezoelectric composite defines one or more non-linear, irregular channels which separate the piezoelectric segments thereby minimising interaction between the individual array elements and minimising spurious modes in the ultrasound transducer array. | 02-21-2013 |

20120260693 | COMPRESSION METHOD AND AIR SEPARATION - A compression method, a multistage compression system incorporating such method and an air separation method and plant utilizing such compression method and system in which a gas is compressed in a series of compression stages to produce a compressed gas and each of the compression stages incorporate a variable speed compressor. In such compression method and system, the compressed air is produced at a pressure that remains stable during both normal operational conditions and during turn down conditions during which the flow rate of the gas is reduced. This reduction is accomplished by reducing the speed of the compressor in an initial compression stage such that the compressor operates along a peak efficiency operating line at which the pressure ratio is directly proportional to the flow rate and such that the lower turn down flow rate is obtained at a reduced pressure which is made up in successive compression stages. | 10-18-2012 |

In such compression method and system, the compressed air is produced at a pressure that remains stable during both normal operational conditions and during turn down conditions during which the flow rate of the gas is reduced. This reduction is accomplished by reducing the speed of the compressor in an initial compression stage such that the compressor operates at a point along its peak efficiency operating line at which the pressure ratio is directly proportional to the flow rate and such that the lower turn down flow rate is obtained at a reduced pressure which is made up in successive compression stages. | 10-18-2012 |

20100193485 | METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR LASER CUTTING AND PROCESSING TUBING TO MAKE MEDICAL DEVICES - Methods for making devices include providing a tubular member to be formed into a device, placing a removable sacrificial block material in the lumen of the tubular member and laser cutting the tubular member. A doping material can be added to the melted portion of the tubular member to promote the formation of brittle slag. A fixture can be used to hold a cut workpiece in order to ream sacrificial material from the surface of the workpiece. Pressurized gas can be supplied to the inner lumen of the tubular member to cause slag to form on the outside surface, rather than the inner surface, of the tubular member. A tubular member made from nickel-titanium alloy can be tightly adhered to a sacrificial sleeve utilizing the phase changes associated with nickel-titanium. A rotating mandrel can be placed within the lumen of the tubular member during laser cutting. A mandrel which includes an enlarged diameter section causes the workpiece to expand slightly within its elastic deformation range to dislodge islands from the workpiece. Such a mandrel could be formed from a tubular member which has a central lumen that can be used to deliver a pressurized medium to “blast” islands from the workpiece. | 08-05-2010 |
20110247943 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTROPOLISING DEVICES - A system and method is described for electropolising tubular metallic prostheses. In one aspect, the system provides a continuously changing set of points of contact between anode and prosthesis. In another aspect, the cathode is given a conical shape to correct for current concentrations that would otherwise exist and unevenly affect the amount of electropolishing over the length of the prosthesis. | 10-13-2011 |
20130304179 | CATHETER HAVING HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR - Catheter for delivery of a medical device such as a stent or filter includes an inner tubular member and an outer tubular member movable relative to the inner tubular member. The outer tubular member is disposed at the distal end of the inner tubular member. The inner tubular member includes a fluid lumen defined therein, the fluid lumen having a fluid flow port directed to the exterior surface of the inner tubular member. A pressure chamber is defined by the inner tubular member, the outer tubular member, a proximal seal and a distal seal, and is in fluid communication with the fluid flow port, wherein fluid introduced through the fluid flow port and into the pressure chamber applies a force on the proximal seal to move the outer tubular member in a proximal direction allowing the medical device constrained by the outer tubular member to be released. | 11-14-2013 |
