20090051521ERROR HANDLING FOR MULTI-FUNCTIONAL DISPLAY - A vehicle display system includes a plurality of sensors mounted to a vehicle for sensing vehicle operating conditions and a vehicle display controller in communication with the sensors. The controller is capable of receiving signals transmitted from the sensors and prioritizing vehicle operating conditions indicated by received signals according to predetermined criteria. The system further includes a display screen adapted to display warning signals according to signals received from the vehicle display controller. The display screen arranges the displayed warning signals according to one of a plurality of display masks. The display mask is determined by the number of displayed warning signals. The display mask has a first warning signal display area for displaying warning signals having priorities greater than a predetermined level and a second warning signal display area for displaying warning signals having priorities less than the predetermined level.02-26-2009

20090292313Knotless suture anchor and receptacle combination - A threaded receptacle for receiving a commercially available knotless suture anchor is designed to secure sutures for tying soft tissue in patience that have bone characteristics where the typical anchor is avulsed because of the weakness of the bone structure, a cavity exists in the bone where an anchor has been rev. The threaded receptacle includes a helical thread that is maximized to provide sustaining surface and includes a central bore and an internal flange that is dimensioned to provide a central opening to allow the knotless suture anchor to pass into a cavity and prevent the knotless suture anchor from being expulsed when deployed. The internal dimension of the cavity is designed to cause the tips of the wings of the anchor to fold to assure sufficient holding structure. In a second embodiment the reduced diameter portion is at the end of the receptacle so that the anchor passes through the end of the receptacle and the locking portion remains within the receptacle having both the receptacle and anchor serving as a means for securing the mechanism to the bone.11-26-2009
20100286698Disposable burr attachment - A burr attachment designed for use with a Curved Burr Attachment or other chuck attachments that includes a tube with a wire shaft supported therein and a coil spring surrounding said wire shaft and having each of the coils touch the outer periphery surface of the wire shaft and the inner peripheral surface of said tube to enhance cooling of said outer periphery of said tube from the heat generated by said wire shaft and attenuate vibrations while allowing said burr attachment to be bent without kinking. The burr attachment includes a proximal end support and a distal end support formed on the end of said burr attachment wherein the wire shaft is affixed to said proximal end support and rotates relative to said distal end support and includes detents formed on each of the supports for engaging balls in said adapter so as to be operatively connected thereto when the burr attachment is aligned in said adapter to couple the burr attachment to said Curved Burr Attachment or other chuck attachments for rotary motion of said wire shaft and locating the cutter of said burr attachment to a precise location relative to the end of the Curved Burr Attachment or other chuck attachments. A dimple and annular groove are formed in the proximal end support and distal end support respectively to avoid the cutter from being inadvertently dislodged. A significant purpose of the burr attachment is that it is disposable while the chuck or the adapter of the Curved Burr Attachment is re-usable.11-11-2010
20110066154Surgical File Instrument Construction with Mechanism to Convert Rotary Motion to Reciprocal Motion - A surgical file instrument comprising a file, file guide, an outer split casing, a motion converter converting rotary motion to reciprocal motion and file assembly. The file assembly consists of an angular shaped elongated tube fairing into a generally flat portion defining the guide for the blade of the file, a complementary shaped file and a plastic rod insert having a lumen for the file and a lumen defining a passage for flowing a fluid to the surgical site. The motion converter consists of a planetary gear system connected to the battery powered motor that rotates a platen which in turn drives a cam and cam follower fitted into the cam slot for driving a drum for producing rectilinear motion. The file assembly is attached to the drum for reciprocating the file blade for use in a medical procedure for removing bone or a portion thereof.03-17-2011
20110066155Surgical file - A surgical file instrument including a surgical file assembly having an elongated tubular member with a guide/shield supporting the blade of the surgical file and being formed on the distal end thereof, the guide/shield portion being generally planar shaped and having an elongated longitudinally extending dimple defining a rail for guiding said blade and keeping it central and preventing wobbling. The side edges of said guide/shield extend upwardly and bear against the underside of the blade for supporting the same.03-17-2011

20100049248Suture tensioning device - A suture tensioning apparatus for tightening the suture used to tie a tissue of a patient to the bone of the patient so that the tissue will cinch to the bone. A lever is mounted on a stub shaft that is supported to a base member and is movable in a lateral position. A pair of spaced spools are mounted on the lever and the reach of the suture is wrapped around each of the spools. Means, including a coil spring wrapped around the stub shaft is connected to the lever and a rotatable dome. The movement of the lever causes the lower portion of the coils to unwrap around the stub shaft, and rotation of the dome causes the upper portion of the coils to unwrap whereby the movement of the coil spring forces the lever to return to its original position. The tensioning apparatus can be incorporated into an existing suture gun or can be made integral therewith.02-25-2010
