20100261801METHOD FOR MAKING A FUNCTIONALIZED MEMBRANE - The present disclosure describes functional membranes and a method for making a functional membrane. The method includes providing a porous substrate, applying the at least one graftable species to the porous substrate, and treating the coated porous substrate with electron beam radiation to provide a functionalized membrane. The method includes forming a functionalized membrane comprising a gradient of grafted species attached to the porous substrate.10-14-2010
20110091698Method of Forming an Asymmetric Membrane - The present disclosure provides methods for forming asymmetric membranes. More specifically, methods are provided for applying a polymerizable species to a porous substrate for forming a coated porous substrate. The coated porous substrate is exposed to an ultraviolet radiation source having a peak emission wavelength less than 340 nm to polymerize the polymerizable species forming a polymerized material retained within the porous substrate so that the concentration of polymerized material is greater at the first major surface than at the second major surface.04-21-2011
20110094960METHOD OF FORMING A REWETTABLE ASYMMETRIC MEMBRANE - The present disclosure provides rewettable asymmetric membranes and methods of forming rewettable asymmetric membranes. More specifically, methods are provided for forming rewettable asymmetric membranes having a copolymer and a polymerized material retained within the porous substrate.04-28-2011

20090159035INTAKE MANIFOLD REGULATORS FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES - An intake manifold assembly includes an intake manifold having an inlet configured to receive an air/fuel mixture from a carburetor, an outlet configured to discharge the air/fuel mixture into a combustion chamber, an interior wall at least partially defining an intake passageway fluidly communicating the inlet and the outlet, and an aperture in the interior wall. The aperture is positioned between the inlet and the outlet. The intake manifold assembly also includes a first regulator received in the aperture and at least partially positioned in the intake passageway to effectively decrease the cross-sectional open area of the intake passageway. The first regulator is selectable from a plurality of regulators configured to each be at least partially positionable in the intake passageway. The first regulator is configured to be removed and replaced by a second regulator from the plurality of regulators without disassembly of the intake manifold from the carburetor.06-25-2009
20090159036INTAKE MANIFOLD REGULATORS FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES - The present invention provides an internal combustion engine including an engine housing, a crankshaft rotatably supported in the engine housing, a cylinder, a piston movable within the cylinder, a combustion chamber in fluid communication with the cylinder, a fuel system configured to provide fuel to the combustion chamber, an intake passageway configured to provide a fluid to the combustion chamber, and a first regulator at least partially positioned in the intake passageway. The first regulator is selectable from a plurality of regulators. The engine also includes a coupling device configured to maintain the first regulator in the intake passageway, and a slot in the interior wall of the intake passageway that receives an end of the first regulator. The first regulator is configured to be removed and replaced by a second regulator from the plurality of regulators without disassembly of the intake passageway.06-25-2009
20100176518SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONVERTING AN ENGINE TO AN ALTERNATE FUEL - An engine conversion kit for converting an engine that combusts gasoline to an engine that combusts a fuel other than gasoline, such as E85 which is 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline includes a carburetor having a vent passageway that defines a vent size, and an automatic choke system. The kit includes a second carburetor including a primer passageway and a second vent passageway having a second vent size that is smaller than the vent size. The second carburetor is adapted to attach to the engine and replace the carburetor. A primer bulb is configured to connect to the engine and is operable to force air into the primer passageway07-15-2010

20080319647DETERMINING INTERSECTIONS OF MULTI-SEGMENT THREE-DIMENSIONAL PATH WITH PORTIONS OF PARTITIONED THREE-DIMENSIONAL SPACE - A computationally efficient method and system of finding intersections of a three-dimensional path (e.g., an airpath) through a three-dimensional space (e.g., an airspace) partitioned into multiple volumes. In one embodiment, such a method includes determining whether a current point of a current segment of the path is included within one of the volumes, establishing such volume as a current volume, determining whether a boundary of the current volume is intersected by the current segment, setting the intersection point as an exit point of the path, adjusting the current point of the current segment to the exit point, identifying a volume adjacent to the current volume that includes the exit point, changing the current volume to the adjacent volume, and setting the current point of the current segment as an entry point of the path.12-25-2008

20110047136Method For One-Click Exclusion Of Undesired Search Engine Query Results Without Clustering Analysis - Techniques to permit a search engine's users to refine query results without prior assignment of the results to clusters are provided. After the user identifies a particular result as undesirable, the words present in the result are tabulated. A subset of these words that also occur with unusually high frequency within the other query results is selected for exclusion. The user's initial query is automatically repeated with these words excluded, thus increasing the proportion of results that the user judges as desirable.02-24-2011
