Virtual mobile and ad/alert management for mobile devices - Disclosed is a Virtual Mobile Management Process that can control any Mobile device by sending the required commands over an TCP/HTTP/HTTPS Connection. The client application on the device captures the snapshot of the device, compresses and encrypts the data and posts on the server. On the server, the xml file is then parsed, decrypted and decompressed and the corresponding values are stored in the database. The Console application on the server loads the most recent image from the database for every refresh for the complete session. The virtual view of the device starts only after the client explicitly authorizes the request from the server. When the user clicks on the Virtual View of the device on the Server webpage (Image posted by the device and retrieved via database) the image get displayed on the webpage. Also the virtual key presses and taps can be simulated from the server webpage. Ad management/alert notification allows a user to create new Advertisements/Banners/Alerts. Advertisements are managed by adding an image to the background of the Ad; Changing the Text on the Ad; Create Special effects for the Text on the Ad; Customizing Font color and size. After the Advertisements/Alerts/Banners are created on the server, the same can be pushed on to the mobile device. A command is sent to invoke the client Ad Listener application residing on the client. The client application uses the above message in the command as argument & includes the fully qualified server address & downloads the XML, parses it, applies the settings & displays the Advertisement. The Advertisement can be sent to the mobile devices instantaneously or scheduled for delivery at a later time. The user can get Alerts, Ads or banners on the mobile device without the need for browsing through the internet or explicitly requesting for the same. | 10-22-2009
User initiated virtual mobile management - Disclosed is a user initiated virtual mobile management process to improve support levels and enhance user experience. With this invention the user will have better control on the VMM as it allows the user to pause streaming when performing sensitive transactions. The user can directly make a connection with the help desk administrator for issue resolution that the user has on the mobile device. User can initiate the request through SMS, IVR, or Data Connection. | 03-03-2011
Mobile device control using a tethered connection - Disclosed is a virtual mobile management tool that allows a remote support technician to access applications and data on a mobile device connected through a desktop computer that in turn is connected to internet. A user can connect the mobile device to a desktop computer, which has internet connectivity, and initiate a trouble ticket. A support admin installs the current invention remotely on the user's desktop and communicates with the mobile device. | 01-05-2012

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTROLLING SHIFTING BETWEEN OPERATING MODES IN HYBRID VEHICLES - A method for controlling shifting between a plurality of operating modes in a hybrid vehicle includes the steps of obtaining a plurality of throttle position values, generating a comparison between a first throttle position value of the plurality of throttle position values and a second throttle position value of the plurality of throttle position values, and selectively allowing a shift between at least two of the plurality of operating modes, based at least in part on the comparison between the first and second throttle position values. | 07-30-2009
SINGLE PLANETARY, SINGLE MOTOR/GENERATOR HYBRID POWERTRAIN WITH THREE OR MORE OPERATING MODES - A hybrid powertrain has an engine, an input member, an output member, and a stationary member, and includes a single planetary gear set having a first, a second, and a third member. The input member is connected for common rotation with the engine and the output member is connected for common rotation with the second member. A single motor/generator is continuously connected for common rotation with the third member. A starter motor is operatively connected to the engine for starting the engine. A first torque-transmitting mechanism is selectively engagable to connect the input member for rotation with the first member. A second torque-transmitting mechanism is selectively engagable to ground the first member to the stationary member. A third torque-transmitting mechanism is selectively engagable to ground the third member to the stationary member. The powertrain is operable in an electric-only operating mode, an engine-only operating mode, and an electrically-variable operating mode. | 04-21-2011
SINGLE PLANETARY HYBRID POWERTRAIN WITH AT LEAST THREE ELECTRICALLY-VARIABLE OPERATING MODES - A hybrid powertrain has an engine, an input member, an output member, and a stationary member, and includes a single planetary gear set having a first, a second, and a third member. The input member is connected for common rotation with the engine. The output member is connected for common rotation with the second member. A first and a second motor/generator are provided, as well as five torque-transmitting mechanisms, including only one brake. The torque-transmitting mechanisms are engagable in different combinations to establish at least two electric-only operating mode, at least two engine-only operating mode, and at least three electrically-variable operating modes. In one embodiment, an electric torque converter operating mode is provided, and may be the default mode in case of motor/generator failure. | 05-12-2011
