20110027499RADIATION-ASSISTED NANOPARTICLE PRINTING - A method of nanoparticle printing including: contacting a printing plate with a target substrate, while the printing plate is contacting the target substrate, illuminating nanoparticies on the printing plate with intense flashes of LASER light, or subjecting the nanoparticles to microwave radiation, such that energy is selectively transferred into the particles, increasing a local temperature of the particles which causes an increased interaction of the particles with the target substrate and produces a strong junction and removes the particles from the printing plate; and peeling off the printing plate from the target substrate.02-03-2011

20080269639Device for obtaining bodily fluids for analysis - A lancing device for piercing skin to obtain a bodily fluid, such as blood, for testing has an electrically activated actuator, such as a shape memory alloy or electro-active polymer, that changes shape upon the application of electrical energy to advance and withdraw the lancing element. The lancing device operates when the actuator changes shape to advance a lancing element to pierce the skin when the actuator changes shape, delaying the lancing element tip near the advanced position to allow fluid to flow into the lancing tip, withdrawing the lancing element to remove the lancing element form the skin when the actuator again changes shape.10-30-2008

20100181413FULL AUTOMATIC ANNULAR WINDING MACHINE - An automatic annular winding machine includes a paying off unit, a sending wire group, a winding wire group, a sending material group, and a perpendicularly vibrating hopper. The wires are sent to the winding wire group by the sending wire group. A magnetic ring is put into the perpendicularly vibrating hopper and sent to a clamping holder by the sending material group. Then the wires are winded on the magnetic ring by a lead pin of the winding wire group. The winding wire group further includes a pull wire slanting wheel group comprising of a pull wire slanting wheel, a spring, and a regulatable suspending sliding block. Accordingly, the heads of the plurality twisted wires would not branch off during working, and the length of the heads is left after winding accomplishing.07-22-2010

20100103245Dynamic Adaption of a Continuous Presence Videoconferencing Layout Based on Video Content - Dynamically adapting a continuous presence (CP) layout in a videoconference enhances a videoconferencing experience by providing optimum visibility to regions of interest within the CP layout and ignoring regions of no interest. Based on the CP layout, a CP video image can be built, in which a conferee at a receiving endpoint can observe, simultaneously, several other participants' sites in the conference. For example, more screen space within the CP layout is devoted to presenting the participants in the conference and little or no screen space is used to present an empty seat, an empty room, or an unused portion of a room. Aspect ratios of segments of the CP layout (e.g., landscape vs. portrait) can be adjusted to optimally present the regions of interest. The CP layout can be adjusted as regions of interest change depending on the dynamics of the video conference.04-29-2010

20100299717System for Annotation-Based Access Control - A system for annotation-based access control stores a network of interconnected data entities including Person, Resource and Policy entities, each Resource entity designated as being owned by a Person entity. The system enables a user to: define Annotations and to associate the Annotations with stored entities, each Annotation comprising terms defining the sharing of a Resource with Person entities; define Policies having associated Annotation(s); define Actions for each Policy, an action being performed on a Resource; and assign a Policy including an Annotation referring to a Person, a Person Annotation, to selected Resources. The system responds to a request from a user associated with a Person entity to perform an Action on a Resource if the Person satisfies Policies assigned to the Resource i.e. if a Resource is assigned a Policy having a Person Annotation and the Person entity has an Annotation corresponding to the Person Annotation.11-25-2010

20100021121METHOD FOR FORMING A COUPLING UNIT ON A LONG COMPOSITE FIBRE SECTION - In a method for the formation of an anchorage transmitting a longitudinal force, of an elongated composite fiber component, in particular in the form of a tension or pressure bar, which includes a thermoplastic matrix material and fibers embedded therein, on a force application element, which includes a cavity that accepts the composite fiber component over a connection section of its longitudinal extent, between the composite fiber component and the force application element a form-locking connection, acting in the longitudinal direction of the composite fiber component, is formed. For the formation of the form-locking connection the geometry of the composite fiber component, while its temperature is above the glass transition temperature of the matrix material of the composite fiber component in the connection section, is changed through a press force acting onto the external surface of the composite fiber component such that the cross sectional area of the connection section over its longitudinal extent is changed in terms of its areal enclosure. The diameter of the composite fiber component, with respect to at least one certain direction located at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the composite fiber component, is changed over the longitudinal extent of the connection section.01-28-2010
