20100103686Lighting assembly having pivoting lens retaining member - A lighting assembly is provided having a main housing and retaining member such as a door hinged to the main housing. The housing has an open end with a channel for receiving and supporting a lens, diffuser and/or grate which slides into the housing to close the bottom side of the housing and enclose the lamps and electrical components. The retaining member is hinged to close the open end of the housing and prevent removal of the lens, diffuser and grate. The retaining member is coupled to the housing by pivot pins that are received in elongated slots in the side of the housing. The retaining member is pulled away from the housing where the pivot pins slide to an outward end of the slot. The retaining member can then pivot in an upward or downward direction without interfering with the housing to allow removal of the lens, diffuser and grate so the lamps can be replaced and the electrical components can be serviced.04-29-2010

20100122684Split-chamber rotary engine - The split-chamber rotary engine includes a rotary power module having a case with a circular rotor installed therein. At least one, and preferably two or more combustion chambers are formed peripherally in the rotor. The generally circular rotor cavity of the case includes at least one, and preferably two or more, peripheral expansion chambers. A corresponding number of reciprocating compressor modules are installed upon the case, with the compressor module axis being aligned generally tangentially to the rotor periphery. The compressor module includes concentric reciprocating pistons and valves that compress the air charge and transfer the compressed charge to the rotary power module for power production. The compressor module is driven purely by combustion gas pressure acting upon its inboard piston. No mechanical linkage exists from power module to compressor module. The engine may include multiple rotor and case rows, as desired.05-20-2010

20110191342URL Reputation System - A URL reputation system may have a reputation server and a client device with a cache of reputation information. A URL reputation query from the client to the server may return reputation data along with probabilistic set membership information for several variants of the requested URL. The client may use the probabilistic set membership information to determine if the reputation server has additional information for another related URL as well as whether the classifications are inheritable from one of the variants. If the probabilistic set membership determines that the reputation server may have additional information, a query may be made to the reputation server, otherwise the reputation may be inferred from the data stored in the cache.08-04-2011

20110246369EVENT ACCESS WITH DATA FIELD ENCRYPTION FOR VALIDATION AND ACCESS CONTROL - The utility of a portable consumer device is extended by allowing account holders the ability to gain entry into access-controlled venues (e.g., baseball or soccer game, cinema, public transit) using a portable consumer device that is associated with an account that was used to purchase the admission or tickets to the event at the access-controlled venue. Techniques disclosed allow cardholder authentication in a non-payment setting that enables cardholders access to a location or a specific event. A first validation cryptogram is generated in the purchase cycle and is stored. A second validation cryptogram is generated in the validation cycle at the venue. If the second validation cryptogram matches the first validation cryptogram, the consumer is granted access. Validation cryptograms may be based on input data that is specific to the payment card holder (e.g., primary account number), specific to the ticket selling merchant (e.g., merchant identifier), specific to the event (e.g., event identifier, date/time, location, etc.), and/or specific to the transaction (e.g., authorization code from a payment network). Based on the input data, validation cryptograms may be generated using encryption, hashing, a combination of encryption and hashing, and/or other operations on the input data.10-06-2011

20120101998UPGRADE OF HIGHLY AVAILABLE FARM SERVER GROUPS - A machine manager controls the deployment and management of machines (physical and virtual) for an online service. Multi-tier server groups are arranged in farms that each may include different configurations. For example, their may be content farms, federated services farms and SQL farms that are arranged to perform operations for the online service. When the multiple farms are upgraded, new farms are deployed and the associated content databases from the old farms are moved to the newly deployed farms. During the upgrade of the farms, requests may continue to be processed by the farms. The farms may be automatically load balanced during an upgrade. As content becomes available on the new farm, requests for the content may be automatically redirected to the new farm.04-26-2012
