| 20110263447 | METHOD FOR THE PROGNOSIS AND DIAGNOSIS OF TYPE II DIABETES IN CRITICAL PERSONS - This invention is based on the characterization of a set of genes, changes in expression thereof having predictive value on the susceptibility or predisposition to type II diabetes (T2D) in critical persons, in particular in persons having a higher risk in developing T2D such as overweight, obese and pre-diabetic persons. The invention provides in vitro methods for diagnosing, prediction of clinical course, subdiagnosis (based on a Risk Score), prediction and efficacy of treatments for T2D, in critical persons. The genes, and gene products of the present invention are also useful in identifying treatment methods and agents for prevention and/or treatment of T2D onset in critical persons. | 10-27-2011 |

| 20120009276 | COMPOSITION FOR THE TREATMENT OF OXIDATIVE STRESS - This invention is based on the observed oxidative stress and increased risk on cardiovascular diseases in subjects with increased lipid peroxidation, in particular with women using oral contraceptives and in hormone replacement therapies. The invention provides compositions and combinations, particularly useful in preventing and or reducing the increased lipid peroxidation in subjects in need thereof. These compositions are based on the synergistic combination of zinc and/or a hydroxyl radical scavenger in reducing lipid peroxidation. | 01-12-2012 |

| 20090174415 | Method for Calibrating a Real-Time Load-Pull System - A calibration procedure for a real-time load-pull system whereby the signal passes through at least one of the tuners of said real-time load-pull system. A calibration standard is connected to the test ports and an electromagnetic wave signal passes through one of the tuners before passing through the wave sensing structure. After having passed the wave sensing structure the electromagnetic wave signal interacts with the calibration element. This results in a reflected and eventually a transmitted electromagnetic wave signal that pass through the wave sensing structures of the system. The sensed electromagnetic wave signals are measured by means of a receiver. The procedure is repeated with different calibration standards. Then a line element is connected to the test ports and, one after the other, a set of calibration standards, a power meter and a harmonic phase reference generator are connected to the output tuner, each time sending a signal and measuring the wave signals. The measured data is used to calculate the error coefficients of the real-time load-pull system. | 07-09-2009 |
