20110267981NETWORK ARCHITECTURE - The present invention provides a network architecture. An embodiment includes a plurality of nodes interconnected by links. Each node can maintain knowledge of other nodes in a database. The database contains a list of other nodes in the network, and a ‘next-best-step’ for each of those other nodes, pointing to a neighbouring node that is the next best step to that other node. Where a particular node of the network is not in the list, then the next-best-step is assumed to be the next-best-step most commonly identified in the database. Such a network will form a “core” wherein any node in the network can find any other node in the network by first seeking out that other node at the core. Once the nodes locate each other via the core, a more optimum route forms in the network according to the most desirable path between those nodes.11-03-2011

20080212847Method and system for identifying medical sample information source - A system and method of providing a unique association of medical data and identity data is taught wherein the medical data and identity data are both extracted from the same biometric information source. Accordingly according to an embodiment of the invention a retinal image provides for both medical data, for example relating to the individuals eye, blood sugar, blood oxygenation etc, and identity data as the retinal image is unique to the individual. As such the invention provides for a secure, reliable, automated association of an individual's identity and their medical data. The unique characteristics of biometric data relating to a single individual relating to the invention allow not only pertinent personal information to be retrieved but also prior medical records as they are now uniquely associated by electronic biometric data, thereby increasing the security associated with their storage and retrieval as they are now locked according to the biometric data and not the simple personal data many people publish online or provide to retailers, financial institutions etc. Such electronic associations allowing medical histories to also become independent of patient, medical institution, etc and confusion, error or oversight.09-04-2008

20110125017Systems and Methods for Ultrasound Imaging - Systems and methods are disclosed for improving the resolution and quality of an image formed by signals from an array of receivers. Multiple receivers introduce variations in arrival times that can be less than the period of an operating signal, and also less than the period associated with a sampling operation. Thus, multiple receivers allow sampling of fine features of reflected signals that would be considered beyond the resolution associated with the operating signal. Use of multiple receivers also provides an effective sampling rate that is greater than the sampling rate of an individual receiver. Similar advantages can be obtained using multiple transmitters. Such advantageous features can be used to obtain high resolution images of objects in a medium in applications such as ultrasound imaging. Sub-Nyquist sampling is discussed. Accounting for the effects of refraction on pathlengths as a signal passes between two regions of different sound speed allows improved calculation of focus distances. Extending the analysis to account for additional layers or sub-layers allows further improvement.05-26-2011
