20100326887Process for Separating Pitch from Slurry Hydrocracked Vacuum Gas Oil - A process is disclosed for converting heavy hydrocarbon feed into lighter hydrocarbon products. The heavy hydrocarbon feed is slurried with a particulate solid material to form a heavy hydrocarbon slurry and hydrocracked in a slurry hydrocracking unit to produce vacuum gas oil (VGO) and pitch. A first vacuum column separates VGO from pitch, and a second vacuum column further separates VGO from pitch. As much as 15 wt-% of VGO can be recovered by the second vacuum column and recycled to the slurry hydrocracking unit. A pitch composition is obtained which can be made into particles and transported without sticking together.12-30-2010

20110021851PROCESS OR SYSTEM FOR DESORBING AN ADSORBENT BED - One exemplary embodiment can be a process for desorbing an adsorbent bed. The process can include passing a desorbent stream through the adsorbent bed to remove at least one of a nitrile compound and an oxygenate compound. Generally, the desorbent stream after desorbing is combined with a feed stream for an alkylation zone after a selective hydrogenation zone.01-27-2011
20110060178SLURRY COLUMN GASOLINE ALKYLATION USING GAS PHASE OLEFIN INJECTION - Alkylation systems and processes are provided herein that include a slurry reactor. The slurry reactor receives a reactor feed slurry including catalyst and liquid isobutane, a olefin feed, and a circulating reactor vapor stream, where the slurry reactor produces a reactor liquid effluent stream, the reactor liquid effluent stream including catalyst, isobutane, and a liquid alkylate product. The catalyst in the reactor feed slurry can be regenerated catalyst from a catalyst regenerator. The catalyst can be regenerated after being removed from the liquid alkylate product and isobutane in the reactor liquid effluent stream.03-10-2011
20110137101Process for the Production of Propylene - A process for catalyst regeneration is presented. The process regenerates a catalyst in a paraffin dehydrogenation process, where the reaction is endothermic. The regeneration process provides the heat for the process through heating the catalyst and removes the need for a charge heater to the dehydrogenation reactor, which in turn eliminates high temperature thermal residence time which eliminates thermal cracking of the feed and improves the overall product selectivity. In addition, plot area, equipment costs and operating complexity are reduced.06-09-2011
20110192712ALKYLATION APPARATUS, FRACTIONATION ZONE, AND METHOD RELATING THERETO - One exemplary embodiment can be a fractionation zone for an alkylation apparatus. The fractionation zone can be a column adapted to receive a feed including at least one alcohol, water, and at least one ketone. The column may provide an overhead stream including the at least one ketone and a side-stream including the at least one alcohol and water.08-11-2011
20110243798Multi-Stage Fluidized Bed Reactor for Dehydrogenation of Hydrocarbons - A reactor design and process for the dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons is presented. The reactor design includes a multibed catalytic reactor, where each of the reactor beds are fluidized. The catalyst in the reactor cascades through the reactor beds, with fresh catalyst input into the first reactor bed, and the spent catalyst withdrawn from the last reactor bed. The hydrocarbon feedstream is input to the reactor beds in a parallel formation, thereby decreasing the thermal residence time of the hydrocarbons when compared with a single bed fluidized reactor, or a series reactor scheme.10-06-2011
