20100165565DATA CENTER - A data center inside a shipping container having a lower plenum and an upper plenum in its interior. Heated air in the upper plenum exits therefrom into a plurality of heat exchangers adjacent thereto. Air cooled by the heat exchangers travels toward and enters the lower plenum. The data center includes a plurality of carriages each having an equipment receiving portion located between an open bottom portion in open communication with the lower plenum, and an open top portion in open communication with the upper plenum. Fans inside each of the carriages draw cooled air up from the lower plenum into the open bottom portion of the carriage, blow the cooled air up through the equipment receiving portion thereby cooling any computing equipment received therein, and vent the cooled air through the open top portion into the upper plenum.07-01-2010

20080271457Cooling Holes For Gas Turbine Combustor Having A Non-Uniform Diameter Therethrough - A gas turbine combustor liner, including a shell having a first end adjacent to an upstream end of the combustor and a second end adjacent to a downstream end of the combustor, where the shell also has a hot side, a cold side, and a centerline axis therethrough. A plurality of small, closely-spaced film cooling holes are formed in the shell through which air flows for providing a cooling film along the hot side of the shell. Each cooling hole has a non-uniform diameter as it extends through the shell. In particular, each cooling hole includes a first opening located at the cold side of the shell having a first diameter and a second opening located at the hot side of the shell having a second diameter, wherein the second diameter of the second opening is larger than the first diameter of the first opening. It is preferred that the shape of each cooling hole be substantially frusto-conical.11-06-2008

20100313683Multiple-Specimen Device Testing with Particle Measurement - A sample testing system includes a plurality of sample tubes, each sample tube coupled to a pumping chamber, a pressure control subsystem and a flow control subsystem. The pressure control system includes a first dynamic pump equipped to induce pulsatile pressure in a mass of pumping fluid coupled to the pumping chambers. The flow control subsystem includes a mean flow pump equipped to generate a flow of sample fluid in a plurality of flow loops. Each of the flow loops conducts the flow of sample fluid between the mean flow pump and one of the sample tubes. The pumping chamber couples pressure from the pumping fluid to the sample fluid.12-16-2010

20110231356FlexSCAPE: Data Driven Hypothesis Testing and Generation System - The present invention relates to a method for generating hypotheses automatically from graphical models built directly from data. The method of the present invention links three key scientific concepts to enable hypothesis generation from data driven hypothesis-models: including the use of information theory based measures to identify informative feature subsets within the data; the automatic generation of graphical models from the informative data subsets identified from step one; and the application of optimization methods to graphical models to enable hypothesis generation. The integration of these three concepts can enable scalable approaches to hypothesis generation from large, complex data environments. The use of graphical models as the model representation can allow prior knowledge to be effectively integrated into the modeling environment.09-22-2011

20080278548PRINTER HAVING IMPROVED GAS FLOW DROP DEFLECTION - A drop generator operable to selectively form a drop having a first size and a drop having a second size from liquid emitted through a nozzle associated with the drop generator. The drop having the first size and the drop having the second size travel along a drop trajectory with the first size being larger than the second size when compared to each other. Each of the drops has a drop velocity. A gas flow deflection system includes a gas flow that is directed at a deflection zone that comprises at least a portion of the drop trajectory. The gas flow in the deflection zone includes a velocity vector having a parallel velocity component and a perpendicular velocity component with the parallel velocity component and the perpendicular velocity component being defined relative to the drop trajectory.11-13-2008

20110045933HIGH TORQUE CAPACITY THREE OUTPUT DIFFERENTIAL - A differential for interconnecting an input member to a first, second, and third output member includes a housing interconnected with the input member and with the first output member, the housing having a first portion connected to a second portion, the first portion defining a first recess and the second portion defining a second recess, wherein the first recess and the second recess are aligned and cooperate to define a slot. A key member is disposed within the slot between the first portion and the second portion. A cross member is attached to the housing. A set of pinion gears is rotatable about the cross member. A set of side gears is intermeshed with the set of pinion gears, wherein one of the set of side gears is interconnected with the second output member and another of the set of side gears is interconnected with the third output member.02-24-2011
