20100171925METHOD OF EYE ALIVENESS TESTING AND DEVICE FOR EYE ALIVENESS TESTING - In compliance with the method, the measurement of the characteristic dimensions of the hypothetical pupil are taken on the basis of a sequence of images. The eye is stimulated with the light featuring a pre-defined intensity profile. For each image in this sequence, the characteristic dimensions of the hypothetical pupil are calculated by means of image processing methods. For a sequence of images, the system determines the function ƒ which defines the changes in the characteristic dimensions of the hypothetical pupil within the measurement period, and on the basis of the said changes as well as on the selected mathematical model, the aliveness parameters O of the eye are determined by means of estimation methods. The calculated aliveness parameters are compared with the statistical template by way of classification process.07-08-2010

20090056373ADJUSTABLE SIZED JEWELRY - A size adjustable item of jewelry has a plurality of movable inserts placed within a channel or a groove formed into the inner circumferential surface of body frame of generally a ring shape. The movable inserts are biased towards the radial center of the body frame by an elastic member, and thus can move in a radial direction with respect to the body frame such that inner surfaces facing the radial center of the movable inserts together define another generally ring shape of varying radius, and thereby allows the size of the ring shaped jewelry to be adjusted within a range of sizes.03-05-2009

20100319712PROTECTIVE APPAREL HAVING COLOR-CODING FOR IDENTIFYING BARRIER PROTECTION LEVELS AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME - A disposable surgical gown having a neck binding that includes a visual indicator to identify the barrier protection level associated with the disposable surgical gown. In particular, the disposable surgical gown has a neck binding that is color-coded for identifying the barrier protection level associated with the disposable surgical gown for protecting against penetration of body fluids and infectious materials. Also disclosed is a disposable surgical drape having a visual indicator, such as color-coding, to identify the barrier protection level associated with the disposable surgical drape. A surgical kit includes the disposable surgical gown and/or disposable surgical drape having visual indicators, such as color-coding, to identify the barrier protection level. The surgical kit may include other items to be used in a surgical setting which may also have visual indicators, such as color-coding, to identify the barrier protection level associated with the disposable surgical gown and/or disposable surgical drape.12-23-2010
20110094521SURGICAL DRAPE AND SYSTEM HAVING A BARRIER FOR PREVENTING THE START OF A SURGICAL PROCEDURE AND METHODS FOR USING SAME - A surgical drape, system and method of using comprise a surgical drape having a fenestration to be placed over a surgical site of a patient. The surgical drape includes a barrier removably attached to the surgical drape and adapted for placement over a portion of the fenestration to prevent the start of the surgical procedure. Upon verification of a set of predetermined conditions, the barrier is removed by a member of the surgical staff in order to begin the surgical procedure.04-28-2011
20120097175MEDICAL DRAPE - A medical drape is disclosed. The drape comprises a main portion having a front side, a back side, a first edge, a second edge, a top, and a bottom. The first and second edges are positioned opposite one another. The top and the bottom are positioned opposite one other. The drape further comprises a first and a second fenestration extending completely through the main portion and spaced generally equidistant from a vertical axis. The vertical axis is generally parallel to the first and second edges. The drape further comprises a third and a fourth fenestration extending completely through the main portion and are spaced generally equidistant from the vertical axis. The first and second fenestrations are closer to the top than the third and fourth fenestrations.04-26-2012

20090066507Portable detection system and method - A method and apparatus for providing assay information to a portable detection unit, by way of a remote server in communication with the portable detection unit or a consumable with stored information for use with the portable detection unit. Global Positioning System (GPS) information is provided to a portable detection unit having a GPS receiver, so that the unit can determine its current position, including altitude. Based on the determined position, assays and parameters, such as PCR melt temperatures, can be selected. Assays to be performed by the portable detection unit can be selected based on the results of a prior assay.03-12-2009
