20100193507SPEEDCOOKING OVEN - An oven comprises a cooking cavity, a RF generation module, an upper heater module, a lower heater module and a convection heater module. The RF generation module is configured to deliver microwave energy into the cooking cavity. The upper heater module includes at least one of a halogen lamp and a ceramic heater. The lower heater module includes at least one of a halogen lamp and a ceramic heater. The convection heater module includes a sheath heater and a convection fan positioned to direct air over solely the sheath heater into the cooking cavity. The upper heater module and lower heater module are configured to deliver radiant energy into the cooking cavity. The convection heater module is configured to deliver thermal energy into the cooking cavity. A control is operatively connected to the RF generation module, upper heater module, lower heater module and convection heater module for selective control thereof. The control operates the oven in a plurality of modes, including a microwave mode, a convection/bake mode, and a speedcooking mode. In the speedcooking mode, the control is configured to selectively control the energization of the RF generation module, upper heating module and lower heating module concurrently with the selective energization of the convection heater module.08-05-2010

20090282371INTEGRATION SYSTEM FOR MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS WITH REMOTE CONTROL - An integration system for medical instruments is described. In various embodiments, the integration system is useful for managing information from, and controlling, multiple medical instruments in a medical facility, as well as providing high fidelity audio communications between members of a clinical team. The system can be operated remotely in a sterile environment using gesture-based control and/or voice-recognition control. The system can record combined data instrument data, clinical data, system data, video and audio signals from a surgical procedure synchronously, as the data would be perceived during the procedure, in a central database. The recorded data can be retrieved and reviewed for instructional, diagnostic or analytical purposes.11-12-2009

20090027092METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING CLEAN, UNDISTORTED VARIABLE VOLTAGE 50 - 60 HZ SINE WAVE - The invention is directed to a solid-state replacement for a variable transformer. The circuit arrangement presented is not placed in series with the load. It can change output voltage quickly, and is able to deliver more current to the load than is drawn from the source while stepping down because the circuit is not placed in series with a load. The output voltage from the driver circuit is a low-frequency sine wave that is “chopped” by a high frequency carrier, yet the end result after the transformer or LC filter is a very clean sine wave. The circuit arrangement is lightweight and inexpensive to fabricate.01-29-2009
20090279217Building Service Ground Fault Interrupter - A ground fault interrupter to be used by utility company while effecting repairs to the electrical service for a building is positioned to interrupt the power supply to the building in case of a detected ground fault and utilizes a sensor for detecting the fault current at the service entrance to a building; a contact switch, selectively movable between open and closed positions, mounted for temporary use in series with said power supply to the building; and a microprocessor based circuit for measuring and evaluating fault current detected by the sensor and controlling the selective movement of the contact switch between its open and closed positions.11-12-2009

20090156429PULSED-MULTILINE EXCITATION FOR COLOR-BLIND FLUORESCENCE DETECTION - The present invention provides a technology called Pulse-Multiline Excitation or PME. This technology provides a novel approach to fluorescence detection with application for high-throughput identification of informative SNPs, which could lead to more accurate diagnosis of inherited disease, better prognosis of risk susceptibilities, or identification of sporadic mutations. The PME technology has two main advantages that significantly increase fluorescence sensitivity: (1) optimal excitation of all fluorophores in the genomic assay and (2) “color-blind” detection, which collects considerably more light than standard wavelength resolved detection. Successful implementation of the PME technology will have broad application for routine usage in clinical diagnostics, forensics, and general sequencing methodologies and will have the capability, flexibility, and portability of targeted sequence variation assays for a large majority of the population.06-18-2009
20090303476Modulation cancellation method in laser spectroscopy - Novel methods and laser spectroscopic systems for accurately measuring the concentration of compounds are disclosed herein. The disclosed methods utilize a modulation cancellation technique resulting in a significantly increase in the sensitivity and accuracy of laser spectroscopic measurements. In general, the methods and systems utilize modulation phase-shifting and amplitude attenuation to cancel the signals detected from at least two modulated light beams. Thus, any signal detected will be directly proportional to the concentration measurement.12-10-2009
