20100260229Apparatus for Testing Infrared Sensors - An apparatus for use with automatic testing equipment for testing infrared sensors on integrated circuits is provided. The apparatus includes an infrared source, a heat mass, and an electronic frequency modulator. The infrared source is modulated according to a predetermined test frequency such that the infrared source emits an infrared test signal representative of a test temperature and corresponding to the temperature of the heat mass and the predetermined test frequency. A signal processor, electrically coupled to an integrated circuit having an infrared sensor, receives a sensed signal from the infrared sensor in response to the infrared test signal and uses the sensed signal according to the predetermined test frequency to determine a measured temperature.10-14-2010

20090089200PRE-EXECUTION CREDIT CONTROL - Systems and methods are provided to provide pre-execution risk or credit control for electronic financial derivative product trading. A portfolio risk management analysis method, such as the Standard Portfolio Analysis of Risk method, is used to determine how a new order will impact the overall credit or risk of a trading entity. The pre-execution risk control is performed on an order by order basis prior to order execution and may include an analysis of assets and orders for other financial products at the same or different exchanges. The risk level for a trading entity may be set by that trading entity, its clearing organization or the exchange.04-02-2009

20090119899Method of Assembling a Vacuum Switchgear Assembly - Insulated vacuum switchgear and active switchgear elements therefor are provided with a rigid support structure mechanically isolating a vacuum insulator from axial loads in use without reinforcing or insulating encapsulations. At least one of the elastomeric insulating housing and the support structure directly contacts an outer surface of the insulator. Systems and methods for assembling the switchgear are also provided.05-14-2009

20100131398System and method for providing market insight regarding securities trading - A system and method for generating alerts from exchange data and news data is disclosed, and includes an alert generator that further includes a processor coupled to a memory. The alert generator receives the exchange data and the news data. Alert generator software runs on the memory and processor, receives an alert profile, and compares the alert profile to the exchange data and the news data. An alert is created if the comparison indicates that a trigger has occurred. The alert includes information relating to the trigger, which may also include news stories relating to the trigger.05-27-2010

20100289381AUTOMATED DRIVE FREQUENCY CONTROL FOR RESONANT ACTUATOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF - An actuator system includes an actuator device comprising at least one piezoelectric member, a driving system, and an actuator controller. The driving system drives the at least one piezoelectric member at a driving frequency. The actuator controller monitors at least one parameter of the actuator device and the direct driving system to determine an operational mechanical resonant frequency of the actuator device based on the at least one parameter. The actuator controller adjusts the driving frequency based at least in part on the determined operational mechanical resonant frequency.11-18-2010

20110018390Methods for controlling velocity of at least partially resonant actuators systems and systems thereof - A method, computer readable medium, and system for controlling velocity of at least partially resonant actuator system includes obtaining at an actuator controller computing system a selected operating velocity within an operational velocity range for at least one of one or more at least partially resonant actuator devices. A width of one or more pulses of a driving signal for the at least one of one or more at least partially resonant actuator devices is adjusted with the actuator controller computing system based on the selected operating velocity. The driving signal with the adjusted width of the one or more pulses is provided with the actuator controller computing system to obtain the selected operating velocity at the at least one of the one or more at least partially resonant actuator devices.01-27-2011

20080229349Recordable optical data storage disc - A recordable data storage disc comprises a substrate having a spirally or concentrically shaped groove pattern. A groove depth of the groove pattern is greater than 90 nanometers, and a track pitch provided by the groove pattern is less than 500 nanometers. The data storage disc further comprises a write-once recording layer formed on the groove pattern, and a reflector layer formed on the recording layer opposite the substrate. The groove depth of greater than 90 nanometers allows a thicker coating of dye to be used for the recording layer compared to other recordable data storage discs with a groove pattern with a groove depth of 90 nanometers or less. The thicker coating of dye allows a lower write power, better modulation when reading a data signal from the disc. The groove depth of greater than 90 nanometers may also allow for more precise push-pull tracking.09-18-2008
