20110117800Marine Heat Exchanger - A marine heat exchanger comprising a housing assembly and a heat exchange core assembly. The housing assembly comprises a process fluid inlet, a process fluid outlet, a coolant inlet and a coolant outlet. The housing assembly defines a process fluid passageway between the process fluid inlet and the process fluid outlet. The heat exchange core assembly comprises a plurality of coolant tubes and a plurality of heat exchange fins. The coolant tubes comprise copper alloy and the heat exchange fins comprise copper. The coolant tubes are joined to the heat exchange fins by cuprobraze joints. The coolant tubes are provides between the coolant inlet and the coolant outlet and define a coolant passageway. At least part of the coolant tubes and at least part of the heat exchange fins extend through the process fluid passageway.05-19-2011

20090092550PORPHYRIN LINKED METRONIDAZOLE AGAINST GUM DISEASE: PORPHYROMONAS GINGIVALIS - The present invention relates generally to targeted molecular agents (TMAs) directed to a particular organism or group of organisms and uses thereof. More particularly, the present invention provides TMAs having a targeting moiety which comprises a natural or induced auxotrophic requirement of the particular organism as a vehicle for directing an agent linked to the moiety to be delivered to the target organism. The TMAs of the present invention are useful for targeting molecules such as antimicrobial agents and diagnostic agents to selected organisms.04-09-2009

20090256977ELECTRO-ACTIVE DIFFRACTIVE LENS AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME - Aspects of the present invention provide an electro-active lens and method for manufacturing the same that encapsulates liquid crystal using solid transparent optical material using an improved liquid crystal seal feature. The seal feature greatly reduces the visibility of the liquid crystal seal feature in an assembled electro-active lens. The seal feature is also structurally robust such that the electro-active lens can be processed to fit a spectacle frame without disturbing containment of the liquid crystal and without disrupting electrical connectivity to the lens used to alter the refractive index of the liquid crystal, thereby ensuring fabrication of a commercially viable electro-active lens.10-15-2009

20090091818ELECTRO-ACTIVE INSERT - Aspects of the present invention provide multi-focal electro-active lenses having one or more multi-focal electro-active inserts. The electro-active inserts can provide multiple optical power regions each capable of providing a desired optical power. An electro-active power region of the insert is capable of providing a variable optical power upon application of an electrical signal such as a time-varying voltage waveform. Electro-active inserts can be fabricated from any type of material and can be inserted into any type of bulk lens material. The electro-active inserts can be thin and flexible and can function independently of other optical components of the overall electro-active lens. Consequently, the electro-active inserts can be fabricated according to a uniform design using uniform materials, independent of the supplementing portions of the final lens. Index matching layers of the present invention can be used to reduce reflection losses between bulk lens material and electro-active insert interfaces.04-09-2009

20090049483RECEIVERS FOR TELEVISION SIGNALS - A receiver for television signals is arranged to receive video signals comprising video data and information data. The receiver is arranged to respond to viewer operation of a control device. The receiver includes a processor for processing selected information data to convert the same into signals representative thereof for output to a television in combination with the video signals. The receiver is arranged to respond to the information data to output for display data derived from said image data and said information data and representing an inter-active image. The receiver is responsive to viewer manipulation of the control device to vary the interactive image and to establish a telecommunications link to a remote site for on-line interaction via the interactive image between the viewer and the remote site. The interactive image may form part of an interactive services interface comprising a broadcast entry level and plural broadcast interactive levels. The interactive services interface may comprise one or more on-line interactive levels entered from one of the broadcast interactive levels for establishing an on-line connection with a remote site.02-19-2009

20110145646Use of statistical representations of traffic flow in a data processing system - An apparatus and method are provided for performing verification tests for a design of a data processing system. The apparatus comprises a system under verification representing at least part of the design of the data processing system, and a transactor for connecting to an interface of the system under verification, and for generating signals for input to the system under verification via the interface during performance of the verification tests. Profile storage stores a profile providing a statistical representation of desired traffic flow at the interface, the statistical representation providing statistical information for a plurality of traffic attributes and also identifying at least one dependency between such traffic attributes. The transactor then references the profile in order to determine the signals to be generated, such that the signals generated take account of the specified dependencies identified in the profile. Such a mechanism enables the transactor to more realistically replicate the traffic flow that will be observed in the real system. Another aspect to the present invention provides a mechanism for generating such profiles.06-16-2011

20100258656MEANS FOR ALIGNING AND PRE-STRESSING COMPONENTS OF A FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY - A fuel injector for an internal combustion engine, the fuel injector being of a type with an open-ended nozzle body adjoining an injector body. The interface between the nozzle body and the injector body is flat, to simplify manufacture, and they are aligned relative to each other using a compression element which is typically a sleeve that extends around them. The compression element also acts to apply a pre-compression to at least one of the bodies to enable the fuel injector to operate at higher fuel pressures than would otherwise be possible.10-14-2010
