20120101165Urea Compositions With Cooling Effect - The present invention includes a urea powder, the particles of which are protected in a dimethicone and silica mixture, prior to being incorporated into anhydrous compositions. The protected urea is capable of imparting a cooling activity to a topical composition. The invention also pertains to topical, cooling compositions containing a protected urea. The use of the protected urea to impart a cooling activity to topical anhydrous compositions is new. Topical, anhydrous compositions comprising the protected urea are also new. Anhydrous compositions containing the protected urea are stable against hydrolysis that might otherwise occur due to the ambient humidity. Disclosed compositions create a clean and fresh feel for a user.04-26-2012

20100259445ACTIVE PHASED ARRAY ARCHITECTURE - In an exemplary embodiment, a phased array solid-state architecture has dual-polarized feeds and is manufactured, for example, on highly flexible silicon germanium (SiGe). The implementation of dual-polarized feeds facilitates the operation of phased arrays where the polarization can be statically or dynamically controlled on a subarray or element basis. In an exemplary embodiment, the sub-component control is configured to optimize a performance characteristic associated with polarization, such as phase or amplitude adjustment. An active phased array architecture may replace traditional distributed and GaAs implementations for the necessary functions required to operate electronically steerable phased array antennas. The architecture combines active versions of vector generators, power splitters, power combiners, and RF hybrids in a novel fashion to realize a fully or substantially monolithic solution for a wide range of antenna applications that can be realized with radiating elements having single-polarized or dual-polarized feeds.10-14-2010

20100137887DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TISSUE REPAIR - Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for repairing soft tissue. The surgical system allows for the creation of tissue repair by grasping, aligning and sewing or fixing tissue. For example, this system may be used for clipping together excessive capsular tissue and reducing the overall capsular volume. The deployment device includes a central grasping mechanism and an outer clip delivery system. The clip embodiments may be single or multi-component (penetration and locking base components) that penetrate tissue layers and deploy or lock to clip the tissue together. An example of the system is used to reduce the joint capsule tissue laxity and reduces the potential for subluxation or dislocation of the joint by either restricting inferior laxity (anterior or posterior) and resolving or eliminating pathologic anterior or posterior translation.06-03-2010
20100152850DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MATERIAL FIXATION - Devices, systems and methods for fixation of tendon to bone are described. An exemplary surgical implant is a modified bone anchor that is able to grasp the tendon and hold it firmly in a bone tunnel. Once deployed, the anchor delivers lateral compression to the tendon, providing direct tendon to bone compression to facilitate healing. The anchor has different versions which allow it to be attached to the tendon prior to insertion into the bone tunnel, or be inserted between tendon arms when the surgical procedure dictates. The resulting tendon to bone compression allows for the firm fixation in a manner markedly simpler than traditional techniques. A modification of this anchor can also allow the anchor to grasp and hold suture. This variation facilitates the technique for knotless rotator cuff repair.06-17-2010

20080216222Microflush Urinal With Oscillating Nozzle - The present invention is directed to a microflush urinal that includes a piece of chinaware in fluid communication with a pre-existing water supply and a waste removal conduit. A valve means in electrical communication with each of a sensor means and a fluid manifold effects delivery of incoming fluid to a water delivery means. The water delivery means is desirably a nozzle means selected from one of a plurality of fluidic nozzles that delivers pressurized water through an ingress defined in a rear wall of the chinaware. The nozzle desirably oscillates water for full coverage of the urinal's rear and side walls. A tarp portion that aesthetically obstructs the ingress assumes a generally scalloped shape to optimize the water distribution along the urinal's rear and side walls. At least one trough is integrated into one or more urinal sidewalls to guide water from the nozzle toward the waste removal conduit.09-11-2008
