20120301231AIR DISTRIBUTION FOR AN AIR SEEDER - An air distribution apparatus has a manifold body, and ports defined through walls thereof, with a delivery conduit connected to each port. A port valve is configured to connect and disconnect the delivery conduit to the interior of the manifold body. A supply conduit delivers a product air stream with agricultural products entrained therein to the interior of the manifold body. The supply conduit extends vertically up from the manifold to a curved elbow and then extends horizontally from the elbow. An exhaust orifice is defined in the inner radius of the elbow. When an exhaust valve is open, a selected flow of pressurized air flows from the supply conduit through the exhaust orifice. The port valve and exhaust valve are controlled such that when the port valve closes, the exhaust valve opens. The exhaust air can be directed into the delivery conduits to clear product therefrom.11-29-2012

20120165583Modified Zeolites and their Use in the Recycling of Plactics Waste - The present invention relates to a method for the recycling of plastics materials, in particular waste plastics materials, into chemical feed stocks and hydrocarbon fractions. The present invention also relates to novel zeolite based catalysts used in such methods. The present invention also relates to methods of manufacturing such zeolite based catalysts. Plastics waste is traditionally disposed of by land-fill, incineration or recycling by re-processing the waste into raw material for reuse. Each of these disposal methods has its disadvantages. The drawbacks of land-fill are self apparent. Although incineration may include energy recovery, there still remains the obvious problem of CO06-28-2012

20080308024PARALLEL LINK MOUNTING ARM FOR A FURROW OPENER - A trailing arm furrow opener apparatus includes a furrow opener bracket attached to the rear link of a parallel link assembly such that the furrow opener bracket and furrow opener attached thereto is maintained in a constant fore and aft angular orientation as the assembly moves up and down. A pucker wheel arm is fixed to one of the upper and lower parallel arm members of the parallel link assembly, and extends rearward from the rear link, and a packer wheel is mounted to the packer wheel arm. A bias device exerts a downward force on the assembly. The presentation angle of the furrow opener with respect to the ground is maintained constant while the assembly moves up and down.12-18-2008
20080308025METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEEDING CANOLA AND FLAX - A method for seeding flax seeds and canola seeds includes: with a plurality of side banding furrow openers, depositing seeds into a corresponding plurality of seed furrows; with each side banding furrow opener, depositing phosphate fertilizer in a corresponding side band in proximity to the seeds in the seed furrows; with a plurality of mid-row banding furrow openers, depositing nitrogen fertilizer, and optionally sulfur fertilizer, in fertilizer furrows where each fertilizer furrow is located substantially midway between adjacent seed furrows. An apparatus for practicing the method is provided as well.12-18-2008
20110282556Depth Adjustment of Trailing Arm Furrow Openers - A furrow opener apparatus has a trailing arm pivotally attached to a seeding implement and extending rearward. A packer wheel is rotatably mounted at a rear end of the trailing arm, and a furrow opener is mounted to the trailing arm forward of, and in alignment with, the packer wheel. A bias element exerts a downward bias force forcing the packer wheel downward against the ground. An actuator is operative to move the packer wheel up and down through a range from a lowest vertical position with respect to the furrow opener to a highest vertical position with respect to the furrow opener. A remote control is operative to activate the actuator from the towing vehicle, and a microprocessor is programmed to adjust all furrow openers on the seeding implement by an equal amount when desired.11-17-2011

20090020053METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ADJUSTING AND CONTROLLING PACKING FORCE - A seeding apparatus adapted for being drawn across the ground of an agricultural field by a tractor, comprising at least one frame adapted for engagement with the tractor, at least one seeding unit comprising, a first trailing arm having a proximal end and a distal end, means for securely engaging the proximal end of the first trailing arm with the frame, a furrow opener, means for securely engaging the furrow opener with the first trailing arm proximate the distal end of the first trailing arm, means for sensing the amount of ground force to which the furrow opener is being subjected, means for placing seed in the opened furrow, a second trailing arm having a proximal end and a distal end, means for securely and pivotally engaging the proximal end of the second trailing arm with the frame, a packing wheel in secure engagement with the second trailing arm proximate the distal end of the second trailing arm and adapted to pack the seeded furrow, means for variably biasing the packing wheel toward the ground in communication with the means for sensing the amount of ground force to which the furrow opener is being subjected and means for engaging the at least one seeding unit with the at least one frame wherein information relating to the amount of ground force to which the furrow opener is being subjected is supplied by the sensor to the means for variably biasing the packing wheel toward the ground to control the amount of bias applied to the packing wheel.01-22-2009
20110056418METHOD FOR ADJUSTING AND CONTROLLING PACKING FORCE - A method for controlling a seeding apparatus including sensing a ground force acting on a furrow opener of the seeding apparatus and providing a ground force sensor signal in dependence upon the ground force acting on the furrow opener. The method further includes providing an actuator to apply a bias force to a packer wheel of the seeding apparatus. The method also includes providing a control device operative to receive the ground force sensor signal and an input from an operator and to adjust the bias force that the actuator applies to the packer wheel in dependence on at least one of the ground force sensor signal and the input from the operator.03-10-2011

20090030822System and Method for Contingent Equity Return Forward to Hedge Foreign Exchange Risk in Investments Having Varying Exit Parameters - According to one embodiment, the invention comprises a system and method for hedging an investment. In various embodiments, a risk parameter associated with the investment is identified. According to some aspects of invention, the risk parameter may correspond to Foreign Exchange risk. A notional value of the underlying investment is determined or otherwise calculated. Then one or more maturity events are determined or otherwise constructed. The notional value and the maturity events can be used to create or otherwise issue an investment hedge for the risk parameter. Upon the occurrence of one of the pre-determined maturity events, the investment hedge's notional value is adjusted. A premium may also calculated for the investment hedge in various embodiments.01-29-2009
