20100033772Multi-page Scanner/Copier and technique/method to simultaneously scan without separating pages or uncoupling documents or books - A system and method to scan and/or copy virtually simultaneously all of the pages of books, multiple-page documents and/or other printed or illustrated material without requiring the opening of the book, one at a time page separation nor dismantling/uncoupling of documents by scanning multiple pages all at once and using software to interpret the printed or colored areas on each plane or page to copy and create digital images of the individual pages of the original item scanned. In one embodiment or implementation, penetrating scanning beams will deliver a three-dimensional image of a book, stack of printed papers, magazine, etc. to a CPU and individual pages will be detected and distinguished and a image of each page shall be created. After processing the images with optical character recognition then the text of the documents can be indexed and searched and accessed by network users. In a second embodiment, after the three-dimensional image of the entire book is sent to a CPU the user can manually determine the individual page delineations and/or in the case of a damaged or faded book the depth of where the image will be retrieved.02-11-2010

20090211479Device and methods for identifying modules in a graphics machine - A method for detecting a type of one of plurality of devices attached to a graphics machine, each device being one of at least a first type and a second type. The method includes detecting at a controller the type of device attached to or to be attached to the machine. The controller is capable of preadjusting the device or machine as a function of the detection. A graphics machine includes a controller, a first device connected to the controller, the first device being categorizable as one of at least a first type and a second type, the controller detecting the type of the first device, and a memory accessible by the controller, the memory storing information regarding the first type and the second type.08-27-2009

20110259015Tangential Combustor - A combustion section for a gas turbine includes a casing defining a chamber, a plurality of combustor cans disposed in the casing and oriented in an annular pattern, and a plurality of transition pieces each coupled with one of the combustor cans. The transition pieces direct products of combustion from the combustor cans into contact with rotating buckets of the gas turbine. Each of the transition pieces is angled in two planes to effect turning of the products of combustion and to shorten the gas turbine.10-27-2011

20110198330METHODS AND DEVICES FOR RESPONDING TO HIGH PRIMARY SUPPLY VOLTAGES OF WELDING SYSTEMS - Methods and devices for controlling a welding power source based on a primary supply voltage level are provided. One method may include sensing activation of the welding power source and sensing a primary supply voltage established on a control transformer of the welding power source. The method may also include establishing a substantial current draw from a primary power supply that exceeds a predefined current threshold when the sensed primary supply voltage exceeds a predefined voltage threshold. The substantial current draw may be adapted to trip a circuit breaker of the welding power source to disallow current through the welding power source when the sensed primary supply voltage exceeds the predefined voltage threshold.08-18-2011
20110248010WELDING ARC TERMINATION METHOD AND SYSTEM - A system and method for welding arc termination are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a method for controlling a welding process includes receiving a signal indicating an operator intention to terminate a welding arc and stopping advance of a welding wire in response to the signal. The method also includes reducing a conduction angle for switching of solid state switches that generate welding power in response to the signal.10-13-2011

20100056119AUTOMATED MOBILE INTELLIGENT CALL PROCESSING SYSTEM - A system and method for providing enhanced information to a mobile telephone regarding a calling device is described. The system and method includes receiving an incoming call request at a mobile telephone including the identifier of the calling device. An information request is then formulated including the identifier of the calling device. The information request is transmitted from the mobile phone to the query processing center via a data communication channel. A response is then obtained from the data processing center and transmitted to the mobile phone via the data communication channel. The response received from the data processing center includes the requested information related to the calling device.03-04-2010
