20100153606APPROACHES FOR MEETING SMI DURATION LIMITS BY TIME SLICING SMI HANDLERS - Approaches that allow the context of an SMI task to be saved between SMIs. Upon entering an SMI handler for a task, a new task context stack is created. Thereafter, the SMI handler uses the task context, leaving the original stack unchanged. When the time limit for a single SMI is almost reached, the CPU is directed back to the original stack, and the task context stack persists in memory and retains the context of the task in hand. The soft SMI exits with an indication to signify that a new SMI should be invoked to continue processing. The entity that caused the first soft SMI then invokes another, passing in an indication to signify that this is a continuation of the prior task. On entering the SMI handler, the handler notes the request for continuation, switches to the saved task context stack and continues processing where it left off.06-17-2010

20090208181System and Method for Automated Creation of Video Game Highlights - Automated creation of videos for interactive entertainment, such as video game highlights, may be based on events that occur within that entertainment, for example based on video game events. A series of events that can occur within a play session may be designated. The game keeps track of sufficient replay data such that these discrete events can be identified. Upon replay generation, the game searches over the historical data for that session and identifies the events that have occurred. The game may present several combinations of views of those events. For example, the game can create a highlights reel of the entire play session by linearly displaying several of the discovered events, or the highlights from several games can be selected by one or more individuals to generate a “highlights of highlights” video. Another embodiment allows the player, or group of players or other individuals, to choose which events to view. The events could also be categorized, allowing the player to view a collection of a selected event type, such as all flag capture videos or all long-distance shots.08-20-2009

20090043296PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY WITH SPATIALLY RESOLVED DUAL SPECTROSCOPIC MONITORING - An instrument for photodynamic therapy applies treatment light from a dye laser, white light, and ultraviolet fluorescence excitation light from an LED onto a lesion and surrounding areas in a time-multiplexed manner. The reflected white light is analyzed in a spectrometer to determine a correction for the dynamic optical spectral properties of the patient's tissue. Light emitted by fluorescence from the lesion and the surrounding areas is analyzed in another spectrometer, and the results are corrected in a computer, using the correction. An optical switch has been developed for the instrument, using a bistable solenoid and a sled.02-12-2009
20100331927FEEDBACK-CONTROLLED METHOD FOR DELIVERING PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY AND RELATED INSTRUMENTATION - A method for delivering photodynamic therapy (PDT) while performing dose metric monitoring and treatment feedback-driven control is presented. Photodynamic therapy is initiated with irradiation of light at a first irradiance. A set of fluorescence and reflectance spectroscopic measurements are taken at prescribed intervals during the therapy of the treatment region. Spectra are analyzed to determine dose metrics of the therapy such as fluorescence photobleaching of the sensitizer and blood oxygen status and optical properties of the treatment region. This information is then used to determine an optimal fluence rate given those parameters and the region is irradiated with a second irradiance. This process is continued until either the entire prescribed fluence is delivered to the region or a predetermined extent of photosensitizer bleaching is achieved.12-30-2010
