20110267202DATA TRANSMISSION APPARATUS AND METHOD - A system comprising a data collector and a plurality of end consumers connected to and supplied with a utility by a utility distribution station. Each end consumer comprises a metering device arranged to meter the end consumer's consumption of the utility supplied by the distribution station. The metering device is arranged to report consumption data to the data collector using a high frequency ID, the high frequency ID being anonymous so that the consumption data reported by the metering device together with the high frequency ID is not able to be associated to a particular metering device and to report the consumption data to the data collector using a low frequency ID so that the consumption data reported by the metering device together with the low frequency ID is able to be attributed to a particular metering device. The data collector stores IDs and is arranged to only accept consumption data carrying a said stored ID.11-03-2011
20110270453APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRIVACY-DRIVEN MODERATION OF METERING DATA - According to an embodiment there is provided a system comprising an input for connecting the system to a power supply, at least one further power source, at least one power consumer, an identifying unit arranged to identify, based on information originating from within the system, an ongoing and/or future power consumption event by the at least one power consumer and a power router that comprises a controller and that is arranged to route power to the power consumer from at least one of the power supply and the at least one further power source, the power router storing rules that define at least part of the routing operation of the router. The power router is arranged to route power to an power consumer in accordance with the rules so that at least a part of the power consumed by the power consumer during the power consumption event is provided by the at least one power source, rather than through the input, in response to the identifying unit identifying a power consumption event.11-03-2011
20110271352DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ANONYMISING SMART METERING DATA - A device comprising an input for obtaining consumption data relating to the consumption of a utility provided by a utility provider, an output for outputting modified consumption data and a processor arranged to generate the modified consumption data based on obtained consumption data so that the modified consumption data starts to converge with the obtained consumption data if a deviation of the obtained consumption data from the modified consumption data exceeds a predetermined threshold.11-03-2011

20110169658DEVICE FOR DETERMINING COMMUNICATIONS PARAMETERS AND METHOD OF OPERATION - A device and method for determining communications parameters such as signal strength is provided. The device includes a plurality of meters, each having an associated transceiver configured to receive a different communications protocol. Communications signals are received by a communications module and transmitted to the plurality of meters. The plurality of meters provide an indication of a signal parameter, such as signal strength for example, to allow the operator to decide which communications protocol the end device should use.07-14-2011
20110237118ADAPTER FOR ELECTRICAL METER - A meter disconnect adapter is provided that allows a utility meter to be connected to a meter socket while electrical service is disconnected to a facility. The meter disconnect adapter includes housing having an interior area. A plurality of terminals are coupled to the housing. Each terminal includes a stab portion and a jaw portion. The stab portion is sized to provide less than rated current flow to the utility meter. The jaw portion is sized to facilitate the coupling of the meter to the adapter.09-29-2011

20120027272IMAGE SEGMENTATION - According to one embodiment there is provided a method of selecting a plurality of M atlases from among a larger group of N candidate atlases to form a multi-atlas data set to be used for computer automated segmentation of novel image data sets to mark objects of interest therein. A set of candidate atlases is used containing a reference image data set and segmentation data. Each of the candidate atlases is segmented against the others in a leave-one-out strategy, in which the candidate atlases are used as training data for each other. For each candidate atlas in turn, the following is carried out: registering; segmenting; computing an overlap; computing a value of the similarity measure for each of the registrations; and obtaining a set of regression parameters by performing a regression with the similarity measure being the independent variable and the overlap being the dependent variable. The M atlases are then selected from among all the N candidate atlases to form the multi-atlas data set, the M atlases being those atlases determined to collectively provide the highest aggregate overlap over all the training data image sets.02-02-2012
