20100157846METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DETERMINING A NETWORK DATA PATH - Methods and systems for path determining a network data path are described. In one embodiment, equal cost multiple paths (ECMPs) for a proposed TE tunnel on a network may be determined. The proposed TE tunnel may extend between a head-end tunneling capable router and a tail-end tunneling capable router. The network may further comprise inter router links extending between tunneling capable routers. For each inter router link of at least a portion of the inter router links, a usage count may be established for that inter router link. The usage count may be the number of ECMPs for the proposed TE tunnel that use that inter router link. A tunnel path may be selected from the ECMPs for the proposed TE tunnel that has the lowest usage count of the inter router links. The selected tunnel path may be added to a model of the network. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.06-24-2010

20090113536Digital Rights Management (DRM) Enabled Portable Playback Device, Method and System - A method for enabling access to digital rights managed (DRM) content from a server to a portable playback device using a device that functions as a proxy for enabling communication between the server and the portable playback device. The method provides for establishing a connection with a device capable of operating as a gateway device for passing data between the portable playback device and the server, requesting that the device establish a connection with the server and operate as a proxy for enabling data exchange between the portable playback device and the server, sending to the server, upon establishing the connection with the server via the device operating as a proxy, data indicating DRM solutions supported by the portable playback device, and a list comprising requested DRM content to be downloaded to the portable playback device, and receiving from the server, via the device operating as a proxy, the requested DRM content and DRM rules associated with the received content.04-30-2009
20090210701Multi-Media Access Device Registration System and Method - A method for enabling an access device to securely access content from at least a content provider and prevent a cloned access device from accessing such content. During registration of the access device with the content provider, the access device requests from a designated certificate authority a certificate having a public key of the content provider therein. Upon authentication of the certificate, the access device generates a key and uses the public key to exchange the key with the content provider. The key is then used for subsequent secure communications between the access device and the content provider. In this manner, a cloned device does not have access to the key and is unable to download content from the content provider.08-20-2009
20100080455Film grain simulation method - Briefly, in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present principles, simulation of a block of film grain for addition to a block of an image occurs by first establishing at least one image parameter in accordance with at least one attribute of the block. Thereafter, a block of film grain is established in accordance with the image parameter. Deblocking filtering can be applied to the film grain block.04-01-2010
20100315561Robust mode staggercasting fast channel change - A method and apparatus for staggercasting a plurality of content representative signals includes encoding a first and a corresponding second signal representing each of the plurality of content representative signals. A composite signal is generated comprising the plurality of first and second encoded signals. In the composite signal, each respective second encoded signal is delayed with respect to the corresponding first encoded signal. The first and second encoded signal representing a selected one of the content representative signals is extracted to reproduce the selected content representative signal. The extracted first encoded signal is decoded if an error is detected in the extracted second encoded signal, otherwise the extracted second encoded signal is decoded. When a different content representative signal is newly selected, the first extracted encoded signal is decoded until the delayed second extracted encoded signal is available.12-16-2010

20100198746TIMING MECHANISM AND DIRECT MESSAGING FOR ELECTRONIC TRADING PLATFORM - A system and interface for trading financial instruments. The system consists of an intermediary computer system that is operable to communicate with one or more trader terminals utilizing either a private line, a network or the Internet. The intermediary computer system is comprised of one or more processors and storage media. The intermediary computer system communicates with trader terminals and displays to the trader terminals a listing of financial instruments, and information related to such financial instruments, that are available for trading. The intermediary computer system periodically updates the option adjusted price of financial instruments as to provide the traders with a time period in which the price will remain stable and during which time the traders can confidently execute orders based on the then available price. A timer, which is constantly visible to traders using the electronic trading system, displays the amount of time remaining until the displayed adjusted prices will be updated. The intermediary computer system is also operable to communicate directly with selected traders or groups of traders in the form of directed messages to the trader terminals.08-05-2010
