20090022553Clamping tool holder - A clamping tool holder includes a tool holder body and a clamp for clamping a cutting insert. The clamp causes the cutting insert to press against the bottom and the side walls of an insert-receiving pocket of the tool holder body. The tool holder body has an inclined surface sloping inward in a direction away from the insert-receiving pocket. The clamp has an inclined surface that acts as a ramp with the inclined surface of the tool holder body. A guide pin prevents the clamp from twisting during tightening or loosening of the clamp. When a clamp screw is tightened, a nub of the clamp engages only an inside rearward surface of a mounting bore of the insert along a line of contact and the top surface of the cutting insert. In addition, only a forward lower face of a head portion of the clamp screw engages a top surface of the clamp.01-22-2009

When a clamp screw is tightened, a nub of the clamp engages only an inside rearward surface of a mounting bore of the insert along a line of contact and exerts a force downward and rearward on the insert. In addition, only a forward lower face of a head portion the clamp screw engages a top surface of the clamp.07-22-2010
20110020072SHIM FOR A CUTTING INSERT AND CUTTING INSERT-SHIM ASSEMBLY WITH INTERNAL COOLANT DELIVERY - A cutting insert-shim assembly that has a cutting insert with a bottom surface and a plurality of interior coolant passages wherein each interior coolant passage has a coolant inlet in the bottom surface of the cutting insert. The shim has a first side surface and a second side surface and contains a cavity, which communicates with the coolant conduit. The cavity defines a first opening in the first side surface and a second opening in the second side surface. When the shim is in a first condition, the first side surface contacts the bottom surface of the cutting insert and the first opening provides a first level of coolant communication to the interior coolant passages in the cutting insert. When the shim is in a second condition, the second side surface contacts the bottom surface of the cutting insert and the second opening provides a second level of coolant communication to the interior coolant passages in the cutting insert.01-27-2011
20110020073CUTTING INSERT ASSEMBLY AND COMPONENTS THEREOF - A cutting assembly that is useful in an operation for chipforming removal of material from a workpiece. The cutting assembly includes a holder having a seat and containing a coolant delivery passage. A locking pin, which has a longitudinal locking pin bore, is affixed to the seat so the longitudinal locking pin bore is in communication with the coolant delivery passage. A cutting insert has a rake surface, a corner cutting edge region, a central cutting insert aperture, and a radial coolant trough with an orientation toward the corner cutting edge region. At least a portion of the locking pin is within the central cutting insert aperture. A clamp assembly attaches to the holder and engages the cutting insert. The clamp assembly has a diverter plate, which has a bottom surface defining a diverter bowl and a diverter channel. The longitudinal locking pin bore opening to the diverter plate whereby coolant flows into the diverter bowl and through the diverter channel into the radial coolant trough toward the corner cutting edge region.01-27-2011

20090178120ELECTRONIC VERIFICATION SERVICE SYSTEMS AND METHODS - Systems and methods for authenticating an applicant. In one implementation, the applicant indicates to an acquirer an existing account for which the applicant wishes to be authenticated. The acquirer sends a message over an electronic funds transfer (EFT) network to an issuer of the account requesting a set of questions to ask the applicant. The issuer replies with a set of questions. The acquirer asks the applicant the questions, and forwards the applicant's answers to the issuer. The issuer compares the answers with known information relating to the account and decides, based on the comparison, whether the applicant is authenticated. The issuer then communicates its decision to the acquirer. Preferably, the messages and their associated replies are added to the set of messages handled by the EFT network, so that authentication may be handled in a standardized way without proliferating applicants' secret information.07-09-2009

20120031715INDUSTRIAL MOTOR BRAKING SYSTEM - The present invention provides industrial spring applied caliper braking systems which include a friction disc, a spring applied thruster and a caliper base comprising a friction facing. The caliper base is selectively activated by the spring applied thruster to apply said friction facing to the friction disc, and deactivated upon the application of a minimum pressure to release said friction facing from said friction disc. The braking system further includes a roller guide assembly including a roller guide arm, a high temperature roller wheel disposed on a distal end portion of the roller guide arm. The caliper base and roller guide assembly are mounted to a floating bracket assembly for allowing the caliper base and the roller guide assembly to slide orthogonally to a center line of the friction disc in response to at least thermal expansion driven axial float of said friction disc.02-09-2012
