20100199306Method and Apparatus for User Interface Movement Scheme - The system provides a method and apparatus for implementing an electronic menu navigation system to present a range of categories and content items within each category to the user, and to allow the user to browse the categories with a cascading movement. Within each category the user can navigate left and right to view the items contained in that category. The new navigation is implemented as a cascading browser or cascading menu. The menu is presented as a plurality of tiers with each tier having a plurality of seats. The effect is three dimensional and similar to viewing audience seating from a stage.08-05-2010

20090092653REPAIR AND REGENERATION OF RENAL TISSUE USING HUMAN UMBILICAL CORD TISSUE-DERIVED CELLS - Methods for treating a patient having a disease or damage to at least one kidney are provided. The methods comprise administering cells obtained from human umbilical cord tissue, or administering pharmaceutical compositions comprising such cells or prepared from such cells. When administered, the cells promote and support the repair and regeneration of the diseased or damaged kidney tissue in the patient. Pharmaceutical compositions for use in the inventive methods, as well as kits for practicing the methods are also provided.04-09-2009
20090162411ENCAPSULATED KIDNEY TISSUE - Provided are therapeutic implants comprising renal tissue encapsulated within a polymer bead. Also disclosed are methods for treating a disease state in a subject comprising implanting within said subject a therapeutic implant comprising renal tissue encapsulated within a polymer bead. Also provided are methods for making a therapeutic implant comprising: providing renal tissue; mixing the renal tissue with a solution comprising a polymer, thereby forming a tissue-polymer suspension; extruding the tissue-polymer suspension into an bead-forming solution, thereby forming a therapeutic implant comprising beads of said polymer within which the renal tissue is encapsulated.06-25-2009
20090275129TISSUE ENGINEERED BLOOD VESSELS - Compositions and methods of using tissue engineered blood vessels to repair and regenerate blood vessels of patients with vascular disease are disclosed.11-05-2009
20100151575Method of Making Conditioned Media from Kidney Derived Cells - Methods of making conditioned media by culturing cells on nonwoven substrates are disclosed. More specifically, methods of making conditioned media by culturing mammalian kidney-derived cells on nonwoven substrates are disclosed.06-17-2010
20100158877TREATMENT OF LUNG AND PULMONARY DISEASES AND DISORDERS - Compositions and methods of using cells derived from umbilical cord tissue to stimulate and support lung tissue angiogenesis, to improve blood flow to lung tissue, to regenerate, repair, and improve lung tissue damaged by lung disease, disorder and/or injury, and to protect lung tissue from damage caused by lung disease, disorder and/or injury in a patient.06-24-2010
20110076769MAMMARY ARTERY DERIVED CELLS AND METHODS OF USE IN TISSUE REPAIR AND REGENERATION - An isolated mammalian internal mammary artery-derived cell is disclosed. Furthermore, methods of isolating the mammalian internal mammary artery-derived cell are disclosed. The cell is useful in tissue engineering technologies, specifically in vascular tissue engineering.03-31-2011
20110142805METHOD OF RENAL REPAIR AND REGENERATION AND THE TREATMENT OF DIABETIC NEPHROPATHY - We have disclosed methods for treating chronic kidney disease. More specifically, we have disclosed methods for treating diabetic nephropathy with human kidney derived cells.06-16-2011

20090276817MANAGEMENT AND NON-LINEAR PRESENTATION OF MUSIC-RELATED BROADCASTED OR STREAMED MULTIMEDIA CONTENT - Methods and systems for presenting enhanced previously recorded broadcasted or streamed content are provided. Example embodiments provide an Enhanced Content Display System “ECDS,” which supports the management and presentation of previously recorded program content in a non-linear fashion and allows subscribers, using a variety of techniques, to specify which portions of programs or other content is of interest. In one embodiment, an ECDS-enabled Music Browser application includes an Intelligent Media Data Server (“IMDS”) that generates enhanced meta-data that are associated with portions of the broadcasted or streamed news-related content. Using the generated enhanced meta-data and auxiliary recorded content, the Music Browser presents music-related content along with related content segments that enrich the viewer experience. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.11-05-2009

20090145476ISOELECTRONIC SURFACTANT SUPPRESSION OF THREADING DISLOCATIONS IN METAMORPHIC EPITAXIAL LAYERS - A method of reducing propagation of threading dislocations into active areas of an optoelectronic device having a III-V material system includes growing a metamorphic buffer region in the presence of an isoelectronic surfactant. A first buffer layer may be lattice matched to an adjacent substrate and a second buffer layer may be lattice matched to device layers disposed upon the second buffer layer. Moreover, multiple metamorphic buffer layers fabricated in this manner may be used in a single given device allowing multiple layers to have their band gaps and lattice constants independently selected from those of the rest of the device.06-11-2009

20090269065Setting Up A Circuit In A Network - In particular embodiments, setting up a circuit in a network includes establishing by control plane logic that planning pre-conditions for planning a circuit have been satisfied, and initiating the planning of the circuit. The control plane logic establishes that reservation pre-conditions for reservation of a resources for the circuit have been satisfied and initiates the reservation of the resources for the circuit. The control plane logic establishes that activation pre-conditions for activation of the circuit have been satisfied and initiates the activation of the circuit.10-29-2009
20110109953REDUCING CROSS-PHASE MODULATION USING GROUP DELAY - According to particular embodiments, reducing cross-phase modulation includes sending instructions to a phase modulation array comprising channel pixel sets that modulate phases of channels. The channel pixel sets comprise a first channel pixel set that modulates a first phase of a first channel and a second channel pixel set that modulates a second phase of a second channel that uses a phase modulation format. The first channel pixel set is instructed to modulate the first phase at a first constant phase. The second channel pixel set is instructed to modulate the second phase at a second constant phase different from the first constant phase in order to create a group delay between the first channel and the second channel.05-12-2011
