20090320737Powered boat hull - A hydrofoil craft, particularly a method of economically modifying a conventional hull with cambered foils to obtain and calculate increased lift from dense spray and to achieve enhanced craft performance is disclosed. The present invention improves speed, fuel efficiency and rough water stability, reduced pitch and vertical accelerations. A catamaran or V-bottom hull is modified with chine mounted aerofoils, flexible dihedral cambered foils positioned beneath the water line and on either side of the bow so as to create turbulence in the forward end of a tunnel(s). Tunnels are created on the V-bottom hull by the chine mounted aerofoils. Fixed forward tunnel cambered foil(s) and/or fixed or adjustable center tunnel cambered foils at the stern end of the tunnel to generate lift from pressure caused by dense spray in the tunnel(s) may also be provided. Adjustable cambered stern foils are mounted on the transom end of the tunnels.12-31-2009

20100011390Method and Configuration for Storing and Playing Back TV Transmissions - An improved method and configuration for operating a network containing a personal video recorder server having measures for receiving several digitally encoded TV channels, for feeding several terminals and for recording storable TV programs. The terminals have measures for selecting storable TV programs and measures for transmitting the choice to the PVR server. The configuration contains a first database in which the index of TV programs stored by the PVR in response to the selection produced by the terminal is recorded. The first database controls authorization or refusal to play back the stored programs on the terminal. A second database stores, for the first terminal, the other terminals authorized to play back the TV programs selected by the user of the first terminal or all TV programs associated therewith by the first data base index. Terminals that are not contained in the second database are not authorized.01-14-2010
20100023976Method and Configuration for Storing and Playing Back TV Transmissions - A method and a configuration for storing and playing back TV transmissions, in particular an improved method and configuration for operating a network PVR, include a PVR server for receiving digitally encoded TV channels. Terminals select TV transmissions to be stored and transmit the selection to the PVR server. The PVR server records the TV transmissions to be stored, wherein a small part of data items to be stored during recording is transmitted to the memory of the selecting terminal and a main part of the data items to be stored is recorded in a mass storage device coupled to the PVR server. The parts of the recording stored in the memory of the selecting terminal and in the mass storage device are combined in such a way that they can be played back through the use of the selecting terminal, either by the selecting terminal or by the PVR server.01-28-2010

20100195988Method and Configuration for Storing and Playing Back TV Programs - A method and configuration allows storing and playing back TV programs, in particular an improved method and configuration for operating a network PVR. The novel configuration for storing and playing back TV programs includes a PVR server capable of receiving several digitally encoded TV channels, of feeding several terminals, and of recording storable TV programs. The terminals are provided with means for selecting storable TV programs and means for transmitting the choice to the PVR server. The inventive configuration also comprises means for detecting particular contents (for example, advertising) associated with received TV programs and means for identifying said contents in the recordings of said TV programs. Said identifications can be used for preventing said particular content jump during playing back the TV programs recorded on the terminal and for substituting the particular contents by updated particular contents.08-05-2010

20090260052Inter-Process Message Security - An inter-process messaging security management may be provided. A message comprising an operation to be performed may be sent from a process operating in a process chamber to a second process operating in another chamber. Before the message is allowed to be delivered, the validity of the operation contained in the message may be verified and a security policy may be examined to determine whether the message is permitted to be sent from the first process to the second process. If the security policy permits the second process to execute the operation requested by the first process, the message may be delivered to the second process. If the operation is not permitted, the message may not be delivered and an error message may be returned to the first process.10-15-2009

20090328180Granting Least Privilege Access For Computing Processes - Embodiments provide a security infrastructure that may be configured to run on top of an existing operating system to control what resources can be accessed by an applications and what APIs an application can call. Security decisions are made by taking into account both the current thread's identity and the current thread's call chain context to enable minimal privilege by default. The current thread context is captured and a copy of it is created to be used to perform security checks asynchronously. Every thread in the system has an associated identity. To obtain access to a particular resource, all the callers on the current thread are analyzed to make sure that each caller and thread has access to that resource. Only when each caller and thread has access to that resource is the caller given access to that resource.12-31-2009
