20100153634 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DATA MIGRATION BETWEEN COMPUTER CLUSTER ARCHITECTURE AND DATA STORAGE DEVICES - An improved duty cycle, increased effective bandwidth, and minimized power consumption are attained in a system for data migration between a compute cluster and disk drives by inclusion of a buffer node coupled to the compute cluster to store data received therefrom in a random fashion. The buffer node signals the computer nodes to promptly return from the I/O cycle to the computing state to improve the duty cycle of the device. The system further includes a storage controller which is coupled between the buffer node and the disk drives to schedule data transfer activity between them in an optimal orderly manner. The data transfers are actuated in the sequence determined based on minimization of seeking time and tier usage, and harvest priority, when the buffer node either reaches a predetermined storage space minimal level or a predetermined time has elapsed since the previous I/O cycle. The storage controller deactivates the disk drives which are not needed for the data transfer. Since the writing on the disk drives is conducted in the orderly manner, the system avoids the usage of excessive number of disk drives. | 06-17-2010 |

20150047040 | COGNITIVE INFORMATION SECURITY USING A BEHAVIORAL RECOGNITION SYSTEM - Embodiments presented herein describe a method for processing streams of data of one or more networked computer systems. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, an ordered stream of normalized vectors corresponding to information security data obtained from one or more sensors monitoring a computer network is received. A neuro-linguistic model of the information security data is generated by clustering the ordered stream of vectors and assigning a letter to each cluster, outputting an ordered sequence of letters based on a mapping of the ordered stream of normalized vectors to the clusters, building a dictionary of words from of the ordered output of letters, outputting an ordered stream of words based on the ordered output of letters, and generating a plurality of phrases based on the ordered output of words. | 02-12-2015 |

20130334809 | CONTAINMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD OF REMOVING A FIRE SPRINKLER HEAD - A containment apparatus includes a clamp having an axially extending passage and a containment assembly having an engagement element and a flexible elongated hose connected to the engagement element. A method of removing a fire sprinkler head from a pipe entails installing the clamp onto the pipe such that an end of said pipe and the sprinkler head extend from the clamp, and attaching the engagement element to the clamp so that the sprinkler head and the pipe end reside in the interior of the hose. The method further entails grasping the sprinkler head through the hose without breaching the sidewall of the hose, detaching the sprinkler head from the pipe, and releasing the sprinkler head to allow the sprinkler head and any residual water in the pipe to fall into and be contained by a lower portion of the hose. | 12-19-2013 |

20110120830 | COMPACT DISC SPRING TORQUE LIMITER - A compact disc spring torque limiting clutch has an input hub and an output hub having a friction pack that is removable from the input hub as an entire unit to facilitate servicing and repair. The force actuator of the torque limiting clutch is a Belleville spring or machined disc spring that is operatively interposed between the input hub and the friction pack. The deflection of the Belleville spring during the useful life of the friction pack is within the flat portion of the force vs. deflection curve and establishes a characteristic breakaway torque for the torque limiting clutch. The use of a Belleville spring significantly reduces the axial dimension of the torque limiting clutch, adapting it for use in applications where space is at a premium. | 05-26-2011 |
20110272200 | SELECTIVELY POWERED AMBULATORY STRETCHER CHAIR - A selectively powered ambulatory stretcher chair has a bifurcated articulating base of free-wheeling casters at each of the corners thereof, with motor driven wheels on a transaxle interposed therebetween. Articulation of the bifurcated base causes deployment and retraction of the drive wheels to allow use of the stretcher chair in both a manual and power-driven mode, while ensuring stability in both. A u-shaped positionable bar is pivotally connected to a back of the stretcher chair and maintains a control box within a tight range of positions as the chair of the stretcher chair assembly translates between upright and horizontal positions. The back of the stretcher chair is of a radiolucent material, accommodating medical procedures in the stretcher chair in a broad range of positions. | 11-10-2011 |
20120201679 | WIND TURBINE TORQUE LIMITING CLUTCH SYSTEM - An asymmetric torque limiting coupling system for use on wind turbines, in which a forward torque limiting clutch and a reverse torque limiting clutch are provided in paired relation, with the reverse torque limiting clutch having a characteristic slip torque that is significantly less than that of the forward torque limiting clutch. In a specific embodiment disclosed, an asymmetric torque limiter interconnects a wind turbine with a generator shaft. The coupling includes an input housing and an output hub, with an overrunning mechanism interposed between the two. A first torque limiting mechanism is provided in series interconnection with the overrunning mechanism between the input housing and hub, while a second torque limiting mechanism is provided in parallel interconnection with the overrunning mechanism between the input housing and output hub. | 08-09-2012 |
