20110282863USE OF VIRTUAL DATABASE TECHNOLOGY FOR INTERNET SEARCH AND DATA INTEGRATION - This invention discloses how Virtual Database Technology can be used to make disparate data appear to be (or act as) the sort of uniform data one expects to find within a single relational database. In particular, we show how to process queries similar to those one might use in a database, even though the underlying data may be missing some of the capabilities that are required by normal databases. Whereas traditional databases require that all the tuples in a table be stored, our approach allows queries over tables where the tuples are generated as required from the data sources, and may not be stored anywhere. We show how such facilities can be used as a new foundation for Internet search.11-17-2011

20110313889STREAMING DOWNLOADABLE DISC JOCKEY MIXED MUSIC - The present invention includes certain features such as a business method for a professional disc jockey company to sell streaming music that he has professionally “mixed” or “transitioned” over the Internet. This downloadable streaming music disc jockey service acts perfectly for customers that want the sound of a disc jockey, without the expense of a live disc jockey. In practicing the method, the disc jockey company would first determine highly sellable popular genres of music, such as Rock and Roll, Hip Hop, Country, Jazz, and the like. The disc jockey responsible for the project would then run the selection through a “mixing” software to provide a set of music that would sound just like a live disc jockey was playing the music. Once the music is compiled and transitioned, it is uploaded to a computer server where potential customers can make a selection amongst the pre-recorded and pre-mixed music selections, and the customer then may access their desired music mixes by downloading the mixed music on a per-hour-block basis, purchasing, on a subscription basis, where their music is accessed on a computer, phone or other device capable of downloading and accessing, or customers can purchase their music on a monthly basis, depending on the volume of music selections that they have used, but not stored, on their computers. Customers may make their own musical selections and have them transformed into a set that sounds like it has been professionally “mixed”.12-22-2011

20110238167METHODS OF CONDITIONING SHEET BIOPROSTHETIC TISSUE - Methods for the conditioning of bioprosthetic material employ bovine pericardial membrane. A laser directed at the fibrous surface of the membrane and moved relative thereto reduces the thickness of the membrane to a specific uniform thickness and smoothes the surface. The wavelength, power and pulse rate of the laser are selected which will smooth the fibrous surface as well as ablate the surface to the appropriate thickness. Alternatively, a dermatome is used to remove a layer of material from the fibrous surface of the membrane. Thinning may also employ compression. Stepwise compression with cross-linking to stabilize the membrane is used to avoid damaging the membrane through inelastic compression. Rather, the membrane is bound in the elastic compressed state through addition cross-linking. The foregoing several thinning techniques may be employed together to achieve strong thin membranes. The finally thinned membrane may then be treated by capping of calcification nucleation sites and borohydride reduction. The leaflets may be formed to have more than one region of uniform thickness, such as a thicker peripheral sewing region.09-29-2011

20090064304PORT ACCESS USING USER DATAGRAM PROTOCOL PACKETS - Communication through an intervening firewall can be achieved by transmitting an outbound datagram through a port of a firewall to open a circuit through the firewall, receiving an inbound datagram through the open circuit from an application, wherein the application is external to the firewall, and communicating with the application through the open circuit. Also, the application can comprise a client application and the firewall can comprise a server firewall. Further, the client application can transmit an outbound datagram through a port of an associated client firewall to open a circuit through the client firewall and can receive one or more datagrams through the open circuit of the client firewall. Additionally, the port of the server firewall and the port of the client firewall can correspond to the same port number.03-05-2009
20100077047System and method for broadcasting messages to user sessions - Methods, apparatus, systems and computer program product for broadcasting a message to multiple users in a terminal server environment. Messages can be sent from the administrator to one or more user sessions using a communication path such as a file, a pipe, a socket, or a system protocol, such as Mach messaging. By using such a communication path rather than a central messaging system daemon or driver, user sessions can remain isolated from one another and established boundaries between user sessions can be maintained.03-25-2010
20100077055Remote user interface in a terminal server environment - Methods, apparatus, systems and computer program product for updating a user session in a terminal server environment. Transfer of display data corresponding to an updated user interface can occur via a memory shared between an agent server and an agent client in a terminal server environment. Access to the shared memory can be synchronized via token passing or other operation to prevent simultaneous access to the shared memory. Token sharing and synchronized input/output can be performed using FIFOs, sockets, files, semaphores and the like, allowing communications between the agent server and agent client communications to adapt to different operating system architecture.03-25-2010
20100077085Systems and method for configuring display resolution in a terminal server environment - Methods, apparatus, systems and computer program product for configuring display resolution in a terminal server environment. A host system can receive a request for a graphical session, wherein the request identifies a non-standard resolution and the host system generates display initialization information for the non-standard resolution prior to transmitting graphic information to the remote client. The host system can configure a virtual monitor in the non-standard resolution, retain the display initialization information for the non-standard resolution, and can pre-render future graphical sessions in that resolution. Additionally, the host system can maintain a graphical session during a period of inactivity without terminating and, upon reconnection of the remote client, determine if the session should be maintained in the original display resolution or configured for a new resolution.03-25-2010
20100077090Fast switching between multiple user sessions - Methods, apparatus, systems and computer program product for instantiating user sessions in a terminal server environment in such a way as to accomplish fast switching between multiple user sessions while all user sessions are fully isolated from one another. The methods can embody a communication method wherein a user's credentials are used to identify the instances of system resources, for example, applications, that a user is using. This grouping can be referred to as a context, which may be associated with a particular user session. Independent communication mechanisms or pathways with window server for each context can be created and maintained. A bootstrap component can be created in such a manner that a logical barrier between user sessions is initiated and maintained; each instance of a given application thereby will be associated with a specific context. Additional control of information flow between bootstrap processes can be provided via a gateway, which may also manage communication between the components of the operating system and local user input/output agents.03-25-2010
20100077155Managing shared memory through a kernel driver - Methods, apparatus, systems and computer program product for managing shared memory between a plurality of applications. A kernel driver can create a region of shared memory and then map this memory into each application that requests access to this specific memory. The kernel driver can separate the entire memory into multiple shared memory sections, regions and/or pools, each of which exists independently from each other, thereby maintaining security between applications. The kernel driver can create a claim ticket containing information about the storage location of shared data; this ticket may then be passed to, from and between a plurality of applications needing to access the shared data.03-25-2010
