20120023487MEASURING ACTUAL END USER PERFORMANCE AND AVAILABILITY OF WEB APPLICATIONS - Techniques for monitoring web application performance are provided. A request for a web application is received at an application server. A response pipeline at the application server generates client application code corresponding to the requested web application. The client application code is intercepted in the response pipeline. Instrumentation code is inserted into the intercepted client application code to generate an instrumented client application code. The instrumentation code is configured to be executed when the instrumented client application code is rendered at the client to capture performance information at the client, and is configured to transmit the captured performance information from the client.01-26-2012

20100241690COMPONENT AND DEPENDENCY DISCOVERY - Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are disclosed for discovering components and dependencies in a distributed computing environment. A particular method includes discovering a first component and a second component of a distributed computing environment, where the first component and the second component are associated with different discoverable technologies. Each component is discovered based on a match between a characteristic of the component and a technology specification associated with the discoverable technology. The method also includes discovering a dependency between the first component and the second component.09-23-2010
20100251263MONITORING OF DISTRIBUTED APPLICATIONS - Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are disclosed for monitoring a distributed application. A particular method identifies a plurality of components of a distributed application. The method also identifies a specific technology associated with a particular component and attaches a technology specific interceptor to the particular component based on the identified specific technology. The method includes intercepting messages that are sent by or received by the particular component using the technology specific interceptor. At least one potential work item is generated based on the intercepted messages. The method includes determining whether to schedule the at least one potential work item for execution based on a predicted impact of the at least one work potential item on performance of the distributed application.09-30-2010
20120017120MONITORING ACTIVITY WITH RESPECT TO A DISTRIBUTED APPLICATION - Techniques are described herein that are capable of monitoring activity with respect to a distributed application. A server system includes logical tiers, each including processing system(s) configured to process messages in accordance with a respective protocol (e.g., an ASP.net® protocol, WCF protocol, SQL protocol, etc.). When a user initiates an activity with respect to a distributed application, hops are performed between the logical tiers and/or between components of the distributed application to complete the requested activity. A hop is a transfer of a message or a procedure call from one processing system to another processing system. A common identifier may be assigned to each of the hops that are performed with regard to the activity. If a failure occurs with respect to the activity, the common identifier may be used to gather information regarding the hops. For instance, the information may be used to determine a source of the failure.01-19-2012

20100151891METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING SMS MESSAGES WITH REMAPPED RESPONSE CODES - A method and system are disclosed in which a Mobile Terminated SMS (Short Message Service) wireless message generated by a Computer Application containing an embedded response menu can be sent to a Mobile Handset and in which a Mobile Originated response from the Mobile Handset can be uniquely re-associated with the original Mobile Terminated message is described. Given that SMS provides no inherent association between Mobile Terminated and Mobile Originated messages, the method and system provide a scheme in which the original Computer Application menu response options are remapped to unique values prior to delivery to the Mobile Handset. When the response is received from the Mobile Handset, the method can uniquely re-associate and reverse map the response code back to the original Mobile Terminated message and original menu response options.06-17-2010

20080221597Methods and devices for intragastrointestinal fixation - A device for fixating a gastrointestinal device may include a band of material that may be wrapped around the gastrointestinal tract, for example, by wrapping the band around the outside of the stomach or wrapping the band in such a way that it is integrated into and/or with the stomach tissue. In this illustrative embodiment, the band restricts the stomach such that the stomach lumen is constricted and/or the stomach is restricted from expanding beyond what the band will allow.09-11-2008

20110141052TOUCH PAD WITH FORCE SENSORS AND ACTUATOR FEEDBACK - Electronic devices may use touch pads that have touch sensor arrays, force sensors, and actuators for providing tactile feedback. A touch pad may be mounted in a computer housing. The touch pad may have a rectangular planar touch pad member that has a glass layer covered with ink and contains a capacitive touch sensor array. Force sensors may be mounted under each of the four corners of the rectangular planar touch pad member. The force sensors may be used to measure how much force is applied to the surface of the planar touch pad member by a user. Processed force sensor signals may indicate the presence of button activity such as press and release events. In response to detected button activity or other activity in the device, actuator drive signals may be generated for controlling the actuator. The user may supply settings to adjust signal processing and tactile feedback parameters.06-16-2011

20080311651Instrumentality for Sequestering Liquids Based on Density: Method and Apparatus - An apparatus and method for collecting whole blood and then separating it into components for subsequent use or storage. A self-contained bag set is used to collect the sample, which may then be placed into a device adapted to fit into a centrifuge for separation of components. Each component is then sequentially extracted according to density, with a sensor present in the device to control the operation of valves directing the collection of each component. The sensor may be reading one or more of the following characteristics: infrared, optics, density, weight, radioactive, fluorescence, color, magnetism, ultrasonic, capacitance wherein the characteristic is inherent in the blood and blood component or is an additive. Each component may then be separated into its own storage container. The preferred sensors include optics and weight. Besides blood density separation, the device may contain a solution including cells, proteins, subcellular particles or viruses which may be mixed with affinity media or antibodies prior to separation.12-18-2008

20080270251SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FACILITATING MOBILE COMMERCE - A system and method for facilitating the purchase of goods and/or services between the holder of a wireless communications device and a commerce system is disclosed. The system enables consumers who wish to participate in promotional sales offers to register with a mobile commerce system. Consumers may further define the types of items that they are interested in purchasing. Prior to the start of a promotion, the system sends a text message alert to registered consumers, giving them an opportunity to opt-in via text message from a wireless communications device. When the promotion is activated, the opted-in consumers are alerted via text message and are given an opportunity to send a text message back to the system indicative of a desire to purchase the promotional item. If defined conditions are met, the consumer's financial account is debited in the amount of the purchase and the consumer is instructed as to how to acquire their purchase.10-30-2008
