The method comprises producing one or more sensor carrying elements, wherein the elements are formed to have selected parameters; introducing the sensor carrying elements into the flowing gas; and selecting the parameters of the sensor carrying elements such that the elements are transported along the duct by saltation. The present invention also relates to a method of reducing leakage through a leak in the duct. In this respect, the method comprises producing sealing elements, wherein the sealing elements are formed to have selected parameters; introducing a plurality of the sealing elements into the flowing gas; and selecting the parameters of the sealing elements such that the elements are transported along the duct by saltation and such that, at the locality of the leak, at least one of said sealing elements is captured by a pressure differential associated with the leak and is thereby drawn to and held in position at the leak for stemming or sealing it.08-04-2011

20100263879SPOOLED DEVICE GUIDE SYSTEM - A technique facilitates coiled tubing operations in offshore environments. The technique employs a spooled device, which is disposed on a reel located on an offshore facility. A guide system is mounted on the offshore facility to guide the spooled device from the reel, along a desired path, and down through the floor of the offshore facility. The guide system enables the coiled tubing job to be conducted without requiring a line of sight along the coiled tubing as it is delivered down through the offshore facility.10-21-2010

20090084337Inlet port design to improve scavenging in overhead valve two-stroke engine - (In a Two Stroke engine, there is very little opportunity for scavenging residual exhaust gas, without using impractical exhaust pipe tuning.) Our design utilises momentum air-filling of the cylinder. We use overhead poppet valves, but we have positioned the inlet valve at an angle, and partly recessed it. The angled upstream side of the valve head and the wall of the recess direct airflow. The eminence positioned in the inlet port augments this by a Coanda effect. Air is thus directed alongside and under the exhaust gas, to promote scavenging and optimise volumetric efficiency. This also creates a combustion chamber in the coolest part of the cylinder head, an important consideration. Complex surfaces, liable to overheat, have been avoided. The design is simple and robust.04-02-2009

In an aspect, such tools can provide a wireless device with a temporary addressing number to allow the wireless device to send data to the network; this temporary addressing number, then, can be recycled to be used by another wireless device for accessing the network.10-28-2010
20120094633CONTROLLED ACCESS TO A WIRELESS NETWORK - Various arrangements for permitting a wireless device occasional access to a wireless network are described. Some arrangements for assigning a single MSISDN to multiple wireless devices are described. In such arrangements, the wireless devices may be associated with different visitor location registers. In some arrangements, a wireless device-initiated bearer service is initiated based on input from a remote system. In some arrangements, a wireless device is authenticated based on whether data needs to be sent to and/or received from the wireless device.04-19-2012
20120094634EXTENDED WIRELESS DEVICE ACTIVATION - Various arrangements for activating a wireless device on a wireless network are presented. A request to attach to the wireless network may be received from the wireless device. The request may specify an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI). An authentication message may be transmitted to a detection device of the wireless network. The IMSI may be compared to a set of stored blocked IMSIs. Each IMSI of the set of stored blocked IMSIs may be prohibited from being used to access the wireless network. It may be determined that the wireless device may that corresponds to the IMSI is permitted to be attached to the wireless network. In response to determining the wireless device is permitted to attach to the wireless network, authentication of the wireless device may occur.04-19-2012
