20120009021SUBMARINE PIPELINE TOWING EQUIPMENT, SYSTEM AND PROCESS - A submarine pipeline towing equipment including: a floater of prismatic shape with a horizontal or vertical axis, with a variable or partially variable buoyancy, whose lower base is at least partially open by an opening or hole to operate as an air chamber. The floater includes: at least one inlet including a valve through which air is supplied; at least one outlet including a valve through which air is discharged; an actuator to control the valve to supply air; an actuator to control the valve to discharge air; a mechanism connecting the equipment to the pipeline; a mechanism transferring air to the floater; a mechanism actuating the actuator to control the valve to supply air in function of a predefined level in the floater; and a mechanism actuating the actuator to control the valve to discharge air in function of the distance of the floater itself from the seabed.01-12-2012

20090318060CLOSED-LOOP CONTROL FOR EFFECTIVE PAD CONDITIONING - A method and apparatus for conditioning a polishing pad is provided. The conditioning element is held by a conditioning arm rotatably mounted to a base at a pivot point. An actuator pivots the arm about the pivot point. The conditioning element is urged against the surface of the polishing pad, and translated with respect to the polishing pad to remove material from the polishing pad and roughen its surface. The interaction of the abrasive conditioning surface with the polishing pad surface generates a frictional force. The frictional force may be monitored by monitoring the torque applied to the pivot point, and material removal controlled thereby. The conditioning time, down force, translation rate, or rotation of the conditioning pad may be adjusted based on the measured torque.12-24-2009
20110256812CLOSED-LOOP CONTROL FOR IMPROVED POLISHING PAD PROFILES - Embodiments described herein use closed-loop control (CLC) of conditioning sweep to enable uniform groove depth removal across the pad, throughout pad life. A sensor integrated into the conditioning arm enables the pad stack thickness to be monitored in-situ and in real time. Feedback from the thickness sensor is used to modify pad conditioner dwell times across the pad surface, correcting for drifts in the pad profile that may arise as the pad and disk age. Pad profile CLC enables uniform reduction in groove depth with continued conditioning, providing longer consumables lifetimes and reduced operating costs.10-20-2011

20120131191MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE, SERVER, AND METHOD OF FACILITATING RESOURCE RESERVATIONS - To facilitate resource reservation, a server can preemptively determine resource availability. Indeed, upon receiving an availability request for a desired attendee for a calendar event, the request specifying a date and time, the server can transmit a search request to a server maintaining an organization resource cache, which stores availability information for resources. Upon receiving, from the server, a search result, and based on the search result, the server can store, in a memory, an indication of a specific resource that is available at the date and time.05-24-2012

20090038309Supercharging device - A supercharging device, especially for supercharging internal combustion engines, having a first supercharging device and an additional supercharging device, which each have one compressor part and each have one turbine part, and a supercharging pressure prevails in an intake manifold on the intake side of the internal combustion engine, and an exhaust gas counterpressure prevails in an exhaust gas manifold, on the outlet side of the internal combustion engine. A switching element is provided, in the intake tract of the internal combustion engine, between the compressor part of the first supercharging device and the compressor part of the additional supercharging device, using which, switching over is performed from the series connection of the compressor parts to the parallel connection of the compressor parts and vice versa.02-12-2009
