The surface alteration may be located on the mating side, the non-mating side or both sides of one or both of the bases. In addition, the surface alteration may be located on the closure element. The opening or closing of the surface alteration may be achieved by a deformation in the closure device upon occlusion of the closure device. The deformation may be an inward deformation or an outward deformation on the fastening strip. This deformation may also allow a user to tactually confirm that the closure device has been occluded, even after the closure device has been occluded.
