20090274085SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING MULTICAST AND/OR BROADCAST SERVICES - A method for a base station to provide a multicast and/or broadcast service (MBS) in a communication system. The method includes: transmitting system information on a system control information block (SCIB); transmitting MBS control information that is changed with relatively high frequency on a secondary multicast/broadcast control information block (S-MCIB); and transmitting MBS content data based on the MBS control information.11-05-2009
20090274134METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION - A communication network includes a plurality of network interface devices each covering a respective one of a plurality of cells. Each of the plurality of network interface devices communicates with communication entities in the respective cell using radio frames of the respective cell. The radio frames of a first one of the plurality of cells are shifted in time with respect to the radio frames of a second one of the plurality of cells.11-05-2009
20090291703METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ESTIMATING STATION NUMBERS IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS - Consistent with the disclosed embodiments, a method for evaluating the number of mobile stations in a target group uses a processor to execute instructions to perform the method. The method may initiate a counting event using the processor. In response to the counting event, a counting request message may be transmitted over a first communication channel. The counting request message may comprise a code set. The code set may comprise a plurality of orthogonal codes. In response to the counting request message transmitted, receipt of a first counting response message over a second communication channel may be confirmed. The counting response message may comprise a first code. The first code, consistent with some embodiments, may comprise content corresponding to a portion of the code set. Based in part on confirmation of receipt of the counting response message, the number of mobile stations in the target group may be determined independent of a connection status of each mobile station.11-26-2009
20100027455METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTENT SYNCHRONIZATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORKS - Consistent with the disclosed embodiments, a method for content synchronization in a wireless network is provided. A first data packet communicated in a multicast or broadcast service may be received over a first communication channel. A primary counter value may be added to the first data packet. The primary counter value may be indicative of a total size of data packets sent over a second communication channel to a base station within a period of time. A secondary counter value may be added to the first data packet if the first data packet has a timestamp later than a scheduling time. The scheduling time may be associated with a scheduling interval for transmitting data packets. An updated first data packet may be sent over the second communication channel to the base station. The updated first data packet may include the first data packet received including the primary counter and the secondary counter.02-04-2010
20100271175METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR PROVIDING A PAGING PROCESS FOR MULTICARRIER - A method of providing a paging process for Multicarrier may include providing, from a communication node, multiple carriers over which a paging notification may be transmitted. The method may further include configuring the multiple carriers to provide support for paging of mobile devices based on a set of paging groups with which the communication node is associated. The configuring may include configuration of at least one carrier to provide support for less than all of the set of paging groups.10-28-2010
20100278093Method and Apparatus for Multicast and Broadcast Retransmission in Wireless Communication Systems - Embodiments of method and apparatus for reception of multicast and broadcast (MBS) transmissions in a wireless communication system including a set of receiving devices is disclosed. A method embodiment includes encoding, by a transmission device, a plurality of MBS data bits to generate a plurality of MBS data versions, and transmitting, to the set of receiving devices, the plurality of MBS data versions, wherein the plurality of MBS data versions are transmitted in a predefined transmission pattern. The method also includes transmitting, to the set of receiving devices, identification and decoding information associated with each of the plurality of MBS data versions.11-04-2010
