20100230466SURGICAL APPARATUS AND STRUCTURE FOR APPLYING SPRAYABLE WOUND TREATMENT MATERIAL - According to an aspect of the present disclosure, an apparatus for forming an anastomosis between adjacent sections of tissue is provided. The apparatus includes a body portion; an actuation assembly operatively supported at a proximal end of the body portion; an anvil assembly movably mounted at the distal end of the body portion for movement toward and away from the body portion; an approximation assembly extending between the body portion and the anvil assembly for moving the anvil toward and away from the tubular body portion; a dispersion assembly operatively associated with the approximation assembly, the dispersion assembly including at least one angled surface defining at least one channel interposed between the anvil assembly and the body portion and being configured to dispense a fluid therefrom; and at least one conduit for conducting wound treatment material to the dispersion assembly.09-16-2010
20100282814Seal Element for Anastomosis - A seal element for sealing between tissue lumens includes a first material for allowing tissue ingrowth and a second sealant material.11-11-2010
20100282815Annular Adhesive Structure - An apparatus for forming an anastomosis between adjacent intestinal sections of tissue is provided. The apparatus includes a circular surgical stapler having an anvil assembly with an anvil shaft and an anvil, the circular surgical stapler further having a tubular body portion with an annular knife and a body portion shaft selectively attachable to the anvil shaft; and a seal structure for deposition between the intestinal sections of tissue including a hub configured to engage attachment structure on at least one of the anvil shaft and the body portion shaft. The attachment structure is positioned so that the seal structure is located between the intestinal sections of tissue when the circular surgical stapler is disposed within the intestinal sections of tissue.11-11-2010
20110024476Annular Adhesive Structure - An apparatus for forming an anastomosis between adjacent intestinal sections of tissue is provided. The attachment structure is positioned so that the seal structure is located between the intestinal sections of tissue when the circular surgical stapler is disposed within the intestinal sections of tissue.02-03-2011
20110024481Annular Adhesive Structure - An apparatus for forming an anastomosis between adjacent intestinal sections of tissue is provided. The attachment structure is positioned so that the seal structure is located between the intestinal sections of tissue when the circular surgical stapler is disposed within the intestinal sections of tissue.02-03-2011
20110042442Annular Adhesive Structure - An assembly for joining tissue is provided and includes an anvil assembly and a body portion juxtaposed with respect to one another along a shaft and arranged so as to be approximated with respect to one another; and an applicator supported on the anvil assembly and configured for retaining a wound treatment material therein and for dispensing the wound treatment material therefrom. A method for joining tissue is provided and includes the steps of dispensing the wound treatment material from the applicator so as to distribute wound treatment material onto at least one of a first tissue section and a second tissue section; and approximating the anvil assembly and the body portion to one another so that the first tissue section and the second tissue section are in contact with one another with the dispensed wound treatment material interposed therebetween.02-24-2011
20110071538HERNIA MESH TACKS - There are disclosed various embodiments of surgical tacks for use in surgical procedures. The tacks generally include a head and a barrel portion extending distally from the head. Preferably the head and the barrel portion define a throughbore for receipt of a drive instrument. A thread on the head is provided to engage threads in the installation tool. A tissue thread is provided on the barrel portion to engage tissue. Distal and proximal surfaces of the tissue thread may be oriented at various angles relative to the barrel portion. There is also disclosed an insertion instrument to insert one or more tacks as well as a method of use. There is further disclosed a model device for use in explaining the operation of the instrument.03-24-2011
20110130774Ventral Hernia Repair With Barbed Suture - The present disclosure is directed to a method and system for the repair of ventral hernias. The method includes the steps of providing a needle; providing a barbed suture having a distal end attached to said needle; providing a surgical mesh; rolling said surgical mesh, said barbed suture, and said needle to form a rolled mesh having said needle oriented substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of said rolled mesh; transferring said rolled mesh into a body cavity via a laparoscopic device; unrolling and laying said surgical mesh under a ventral hernia in an abdominal wall; threading said needle and barbed suture through said surgical mesh and said abdominal wall; and trimming said barbed suture.06-02-2011
