The method comprises the steps of determining virtual link adaptation parameters for at least a part of all combinations of data flow and shared channel, based on state information from the respective shared channel, and based on Quality of Service requirements for the respective data flow; calculating potential data rates for said combinations of data flow and shared channel, based on said virtual link adaptation parameters; calculating priority values for said combinations of data flow and shared channel, based on said potential data rates; and selecting, based on the calculated priority values, for at least a part of the shared channels, a data flow for which data is to be transmitted on each of these shared channel during the time interval of one frame.09-03-2009
20090262699RESOURCE RESERVATION FOR USERS IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - The invention relates to a method and scheduling apparatus for reserving radio resources in radio resource block units in a mobile communication system for a plurality of users. Further, another aspect of the invention is the indication of a radio resource reservation in radio resource block units in a mobile communication system to one of a plurality of mobile terminals. To provide a new mechanism allowing an efficient utilization of radio resources the invention proposes a resource reservation mechanism that reserves radio resources for a plurality of users in resource block units. Thereby, individual resource blocks are reserved for the individual users for a reservation period that comprises a plurality of time slots (or sub-frames). 20090280823EFFICIENT PAGING MECHANISM WITH SCALABLE BANDWIDTH ALLOCATION - The invention relates to an improved paging procedure for mobile nodes in a mobile communication system. A UE in idle mode is paged by a network entity via a selectable frequency subband of the system bandwidth. For every resource block, comprising part of the paging message or a diversity repetition thereof, a respective frequency subband is selected based on various parameters. These parameters may include: load in the subbands, UE capability in the tracking area and/or importance of paging information within the resource block. Furthermore, additional parity bits may be transmitted instead of the diversity repetition of the paging message, wherein the resource blocks, comprising the additional parity bits, are also transmitted via selectable frequency subbands. Thereby, the delay for changing from the idle to the active state of a mobile node may be reduced by increasing reliability of paging message transmission and resources may be utilized more efficiently.11-12-2009

The control channels may comprise scheduling related control information. Further the invention relates to a scheduling unit for generating the control channel signal and a base station comprising the scheduling unit. The invention also relates to the operation of a mobile station and a base station for implementing a scheduling mode using the control channel signal proposed by the invention. In order to facilitate the use of different scheduling schemes for user data transmission while avoiding an additional flag for indicating the scheduling mode in the control signaling, the invention proposes the use of code points in existing control channel signal fields. Further, the invention proposes a specific scheduling mode for use in combination with the proposed new control channel signal according to the invention. Furthermore, the invention also provides a mobile station and a base station and their respective operation in view of the newly defined control channel signals defined herein. In order to reduce the control channel overhead, the invention suggests defining a common field for the transport format and redundancy version in the control channel information format. According to one approach, the common field is used to jointly encode transport format and redundancy version therein. According to another aspect, one shared field is provided on the control channel signal that indicates either a transport format or a redundancy version depending of whether the control channel signal relates to an initial transmission or a retransmission. The memory associated to the HARQ process is divided into several sub-areas, which are addressable by an identifier. Then, when data is received, same is stored in one of the sub-areas. By providing more than one sub-area for one HARQ process, it is possible to actually use one HARQ process for two (or more) different received data units, being from the same data flow or from a different data flow.
