20110191142USING NETWORKING SITE INTERACTIONS TO GENERATE A TARGET LIST OF POTENTIAL CONSUMERS - Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems, methods, and computer-storage media for providing a method of presenting advertisements to a target group of potential consumers generated from a group of seed consumers. In one embodiment, a target list request is received from an advertiser. A set of seed consumers associated with the advertiser is then determined. A set of potential consumers is then determined based on the set of seed consumers. Further, a subset of the set of potential consumers is determined, each potential consumer of the subset having a common characteristic. A target list of potential consumers is then generated comprising at least a portion of the subset of potential consumers. The target list of potential consumers is then provided to the advertiser.08-04-2011

20080197980Methods and devices for providing scalable RFID networks - According to some implementations of the present invention, RFID devices and middleware servers are automatically provisioned with a network address and with instructions for sending a request for a middleware server to a middleware server assigner. In some implementations, the middleware server assigner is a load balancer. In some implementations, a middleware server is associated with a plurality of RFID devices by associating a middleware server network address or names with the network addresses of the RFID devices. Preferred methods also provide for redundancy of middleware servers and dynamic reassignment of RFID devices from an unavailable middleware server to an available middleware server.08-21-2008
20090274150MECHANISMS FOR PROVIDING INTELLIGENT THROTTLING ON A NAT SESSION BORDER CONTROLLER - Disclosed are apparatus and methods for managing session data in a session border controller (SBC), where the session data is sent from a first node, such as a first phone, to a second node, such as a registrar or second phone. In one example embodiment, the following operations are performed in a first intermediary node that is configured to provide network address translation (NAT) for both a header and payload of a session packet and has an inside interface coupled with a second intermediary node that is configured to perform NAT for only a header of session packets. It is determined whether an end node is sending session packets that are not used to set up a session and that result in a binding that was formed by the second intermediary node being retained. The binding associates inside and outside addresses of the end node, and an end node is defined as a node that originates a session packet. It is determined whether to inhibit a registration throttling process from being performed by the first intermediary node, that results in the binding being retained, based on whether it is determined that the end node is sending session packets that are not used to set up a session and that result in the binding being retained.11-05-2009
20100172359INTELLIGENT ALG FUNCTIONALITY IN NETWORKS SUPPORTING ENDPOINTS PERFORMING NETWORK ADDRESS TRANSLATION - In one embodiment, a signaling message is received from an endpoint. It is determined from the signaling message whether, prior to sending the signaling message, the endpoint performed network address translation on the body of the signaling message. If it is determined from the signaling message that, prior to sending the signaling message, the endpoint did not perform network address translation on the body of the signaling message, application layer gateway functionality is applied to the body of the signaling message such that a modified signaling message is generated.07-08-2010

20100169189Method and Apparatus for Monitoring Inventory - A method for monitoring inventory on a self-adjusting shelf and apparatus for accomplishing the same. The invention describes a method for determining the number of packages on a shelf or hanger of a self-adjusting shelf. The number of packages on a shelf or hanger are determined by measuring the distance from the back end of a shelf to the package closest to the shelf with a sensor, ascertaining the thickness of the product, and by calculating the amount of space occupied on a shelf or hanger and consequently the number of packages on a shelf. In another embodiment, the product is identified by a product identifying means such as an SKU reader. Thus, the quantity and type of product located on a shelf or hanger is known. Such information allows a store to know the type and quantity of packages needed to restock a specific hanger.07-01-2010

The invention describes a method for determining the number of packages on a shelf or hanger. The number of packages on a shelf or hanger are determined by detecting the presence of a package on the shelf and adding all detections together to determine the number of product on a shelf. In another embodiment, the product is identified by an identifying device such as an SKU reader. Thus, the quantity and type of product located on a shelf or hanger is known. 20080319917Bidding for position placement in a search result on time-limited resources - A method, computer program product, and system are provided for bidding for position placement in a search result on time-limited resources. For example, an embodiment of the method includes receiving a bid for position placement of the time-limited resource in the search result, calculating the bid based on historical data of the time-limited resource, and ordering the search result based on the bid and relevance between a search term and attributes of the time-limited resource. In receiving the bid, the method can vary an amount of the bid for one or more time periods of interest, thus allowing flexibility for an owner/manager of the resource to offer bids for various time periods. The calculation of the bid is based on historical data of the resource, which can assess a likelihood that a consumer will click on a link associated with the resource, inquire further information on the resource, or book the resource. In turn, the search result can order one or more results from the search primarily on relevance between a number of similarities between inquiry and characteristics of the resource and secondarily on bid amount. One advantage of this method, among others, is that the method provides relevancy in a bid for placement advertising model and efficiently facilitates the bidding process for advertisers with multiple resources.12-25-2008
