20090007096 | Secure Software Deployments - Techniques for secure software deployments are described. In one implementation, a software package is published to an installation portion of a networked environment and stored. Similarly, an applicability rule (or policy) associated with the software package is published to the installation portion and stored. During a periodic synchronization between a host device and the installation portion, the applicability rule is communicated, and a determination is made whether the host device is intended to receive the software package based on the applicability rule communicated during the periodic synchronization. If the applicability rule is satisfied, the software package is installed on the host device. In a further implementation, the software package may be installed on the host device via a communication channel that is normally designated for non-routine communications, such as security packet updates and other administrative functions. | 01-01-2009 |
20110110268 | MODEL-BASED VIRTUAL NETWORKING - Architecture that facilitates the virtual specification of a connection between physical endpoints. A network can be defined as an abstract connectivity model expressed in terms of the connectivity intent, rather than any specific technology. The connectivity model is translated into configuration settings, policies, firewall rules, etc., to implement the connectivity intent based on available physical networks and devices capabilities. The connectivity model defines the connectivity semantics of the network and controls the communication between the physical nodes in the physical network. The resultant virtual network may be a virtual overlay that is independent of the physical layer. Alternatively, the virtual overlay can also include elements and abstracts of the physical network(s). Moreover, automatic network security rules (e.g., Internet Protocol security-IPSec) can be derived from the connectivity model of the network. | 05-12-2011 |

20100058751 | RECIPROCATING PNEUMATIC PISTON GRAVITY ENGINE - A pneumatic reciprocating piston engine that uses a mixture of compressed air and water as the working fluid with a combination of gravity and spring force functioning to return the piston after completion of the power stroke is disclosed. A working fluid, preferably comprising a source of compressed air, is in fluid communication with the bottom portion of a generally vertically disposed cylinder via an inlet valve biased to a normally closed position. A piston is configured for reciprocating motion within the cylinder and traverses between bottommost and topmost positions. The piston is configured to engage the inlet valve when at the bottommost position thereby actuating the valve for a limited period of time to an open position so as to allow the introduction of compressed air and initiating of the power stroke to drive the piston upward. In a preferred embodiment, water is injected into the compressed air stream entering the cylinder to provide lubrication for the piston. The piston is drive upward by the working fluid until an uppermost stop is reached wherein the piston head has cleared an exhaust port formed in the cylinder thereby allowing the working fluid to escape. A mass is connected to the piston, in overhead relation, by a spring connection. When the piston reaches the uppermost stop, momentum causes the spring connected mass to continue upward thereby placing the spring in compression and maintaining the piston above the exhaust port so as to allow escape of the working fluid therethrough. Return of the mass downward, caused both by gravity and spring energy, causes the mass to engage the piston and return the piston to its bottommost position whereby another stroke is initiated. Power output may be transferred to any suitable system. | 03-11-2010 |

The diffuser includes a plurality of panels. The plurality of panels force the inflation gas to change flow direction at least two times before the inflation gas exits into the airbag. The panels each include openings for inflation gas to pass through. Openings in a first panel are not aligned with the openings in a second panel. | 11-04-2010 |
20110241319 | KNEE AIRBAG - A knee airbag module can include a knee airbag cushion and a deployment control mechanism, with the deployment control mechanism limiting displacement of the knee airbag cushion in at least a vertical direction relative to a vehicle. The deployment control mechanism can induce an airbag cushion to deploy in a direction rearward (relative to a front of a vehicle) and oblique along a vehicle dashboard quickly by controlling and limiting the downward deployment distance and making the rearward and oblique direction become a path of least resistance for deployment of the knee airbag cushion. In addition, the airbag module and the deployment control mechanism can permit a knee airbag cushion to provide enhanced coverage of an occupant's leg, such as above the knee of the occupant's leg, by controlling the deployment of the knee airbag cushion without the need to use an airbag cushion with a greater vertical height. | 10-06-2011 |
20120242066 | KNEE AIRBAG MODULE - A knee airbag module for restraining an occupant seated in the interior compartment of a vehicle. The module includes an inflatable airbag cushion configured to deploy to a location forward of the legs of the seated occupant, and an inflator to supply inflation gas for inflating the cushion. The module further includes a housing configured to couple to the vehicle and a cover connected to the housing. The housing includes a base, a forward side wall and a rearward side wall, which together with the cover form a compartment for housing the airbag cushion prior to deployment, as well as the inflator. A portion of the rearward side wall is inclined to guide the deploying airbag cushion in an oblique direction when breaching the housing. | 09-27-2012 |
20120313359 | AIRBAG ASSEMBLY - An airbag assembly includes an airbag cushion, an inflator to provide inflation gas to inflate the airbag cushion, a diffuser provided between the inflator and the airbag cushion and a deflector provided between the inflator and the diffuser. The diffuser forces the inflation gas to change flow direction at least one time before the inflation gas exits into the airbag cushion. The deflector deflects particulates emitted from the inflator into a predetermined portion of the diffuser to inhibit particulates from entering into the airbag cushion. The predetermined portion of the diffuser may be an upper corner of the diffuser. | 12-13-2012 |

20090007436 | Silicon blades for surgical and non-surgical use - Ophthalmic surgical blades are manufactured from either a crystalline or polycrystalline material, preferably in the form of a wafer. The method comprises preparing the crystalline or polycrystalline wafers by mounting them and machining trenches into the wafers. Methods for machining the trenches, which form the bevel blade surfaces, include a diamond blade saw, laser system, ultrasonic machine, a hot forge press and a router. The wafers are then placed in an etchant solution which isotropically etches the wafers in a uniform manner, such that layers of crystalline or polycrystalline material are removed uniformly, producing single, double or multiple bevel blades. Nearly any bevel angle can be machined into the wafer which remains after etching. The resulting radii of the blade edges is 5-500 nm, which is the same caliber as a diamond edged blade, but manufactured at a fraction of the cost. The ophthalmic surgical blades can be used for cataract and refractive surgical procedures, as well as microsurgical, biological and non-medical, non-biological purposes. | 01-08-2009 |
