20080212486Checking of broadband network components - Systems and methods for checking broadband network components are provided in which an automated interactive system permits a field technician to check various conditions of a communication line or other broadband network components without the assistance of a support technician. While options to request assistance from a support technician are provided, the automated interactive system permits the field technician to perform various functions on a communication line without additional assistance, especially for routine tasks. The automated interactive system, therefore, removes efficiencies that may be associated with conventional approaches for checking broadband network components.09-04-2008

20080254059Adenovirus Serotype 26 Vectors, Nucleic Acid and Viruses Produced Thereby - Adenoviral serotypes differ in their natural tropism. The various serotypes of adenovirus have been found to differ in at least their capsid proteins (e.g., penton-base and hexon proteins), proteins responsible for cell binding (e.g., fiber proteins), and proteins involved in adenovirus replication. This difference in tropism and capsid proteins among serotypes has led to many research efforts aimed at redirecting the adenovirus tropism by modification of the capsid proteins. The present invention bypasses such requirement for capsid protein modification as it presents a recombinant, replication-defective adenovirus of serotype 26, a rare adenoviral serotype, and methods for generating the alternative, recombinant adenovirus. Additionally, means of employing the recombinant adenovirus for delivery and expression of heterologous genes are provided.10-16-2008

20090170360Sealed compression type coaxial cable F-connectors - Axially compressible, self-sealing, high bandwidth F-connectors for conventional hand tools for interconnection with coaxial cable. An internal, dual segment sealing grommet activated by compression provides a seal. Each connector has a rigid nut that is rotatably secured to a, tubular body. A rigid, conductive post coaxially extends through the connector. A post barbed end penetrates the cable within the connector. A tubular, metallic end cap is slidably fitted to a body shank, and thereafter forcibly compressed lengthwise during installation. The end cap has a ring groove for seating the enhanced grommet. The end cap can irreversibly assume any position, being held by end cap teeth. A tactile system comprising external convex projections on the body complemented by a resilient, external O-ring on the end cap aids installers who can properly position connectors with the sense of touch.07-02-2009
20110065317Compression type coaxial cable F-connectors with traveling seal and barbless post - Axially compressible, self-sealing, high bandwidth F-connectors for conventional hand tools for interconnection with coaxial cable. An internal, dual segment sealing grommet activated by compression elongates and deforms to provide a travelling seal. Each connector has a rigid nut that is rotatably secured to a, tubular body. A rigid, conductive post has a barbless shank that coaxially extends through the connector and penetrates the coaxial cable within the connector. A tubular, metallic end cap is slidably fitted to a body shank, and is thereafter forcibly compressed lengthwise during installation. The end cap has a ring groove for seating the enhanced grommet. The end cap can irreversibly assume any position, being held by end cap teeth. The grommet travels and extrudes during compression to mate and intermingle with a portion of the cable braid that is looped back to form a prepared cable end.03-17-2011
20110076885Coaxial fitting contact tube construction - Contact tubes and coaxial cable fittings with the tubes, including barrel connectors, right angle connectors, and sockets. The elongated, tubular contact tube extends coaxially within each fitting, establishing at least one female juncture for receiving the center conductor projecting from a coaxial connector. The insulators and bushings center and retain the contact tube within the connectors. The contact tubes are rolled from beryllium, copper alloy sheets having slotted portions defined on one or both sheet ends. The slotted portions comprise a plurality of parallel, curved, slots, each of which borders curved metal strips. Half slots at the bottom and top of the slotted portions adjoin each other after rolling to form an additional slot. Because of the shape of the slots and strips a generally pentagonal configuration is assumed after rolling and contraction of the slotted region, such that contact points overlap03-31-2011

20120044861CONTROL DOMAIN CHANGE BASED ON NETWORK REGISTRATION CONDITION - Aspects describe a separate domain selection function that is utilized as the first function in a communication path for a communication that is to be connected to a user device registered in a first network or a second network. If a result of the domain selection function indicates call control should be maintained by first network (e.g., user device is registered with first network or a network with which first network has a control relationship), call control of the communication remains with first network. If the result of the domain selection function indicates the user device is registered with second network, call control is suspended by the first network, which allows the communication to bypass the first network.02-23-2012
