20120098599ENHANCEMENT MODE HEMT FOR DIGITAL AND ANALOG APPLICATIONS - An enhancement mode (E-mode) HEMT is provided that can be used for analog and digital applications. In a specific embodiment, the HEMT can be an AlN/GaN HEMT. The subject E-mode device can be applied to high power, high voltage, high temperature applications, including but not limited to telecommunications, switches, hybrid electric vehicles, power flow control and remote sensing. According to an embodiment of the present invention, E-mode devices can be fabricated by performing an oxygen plasma treatment with respect to the gate area of the HEMT. The oxygen plasma treatment can be, for example, an O2 plasma treatment. In addition, the threshold voltage of the E-mode HEMT can be controlled by adjusting the oxygen plasma exposure time. By using a masking layer protecting regions for depletion mode (D-mode) devices, D-mode and E-mode devices can be fabricated on a same chip.04-26-2012

20100142454SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED OPTIMIZATION OF SPECTRUM ALLOCATION - The present disclosure describes systems and methods that facilitate the allocation of spectrum for wireless communications. A database may be maintained that includes spectrum that has been offered by spectrum holders for use by spectrum users. Portions of the offered spectrum that have been allocated to spectrum users may be identified, the remainder of the offered spectrum being unallocated spectrum. A request specifying aspects of desired spectrum may be received from a user. A lack of available spectrum from the offered spectrum that fulfills the specified aspects in the request may be identified. Unallocated spectrum from a corresponding spectrum offer may be apportioned to fulfill the request with unallocated spectrum that matches the time duration and the geographic area aspects of the request and that has a frequency range that is shifted from the frequency range of the request for at least a portion of the time duration.06-10-2010
20100145745SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANSFERRING SPECTRUM USE RIGHTS - The present disclosure describes systems and methods that facilitate the transfer rights associated with spectrum between parties. Access to spectrum for wireless communications may be transferred from a spectrum holder to a spectrum user while minimizing their role in submitting regulatory agency compliance filings. As a result, parties may transfer spectrum with relative ease, with faster transaction time and lower expense. This leads to more efficient use of the spectrum.06-10-2010
20100145862AUTOMATED SPECTRUM EXCHANGE SYSTEM AND METHOD - The present disclosure describes systems and methods that facilitate the transfer of rights associated with spectrum between parties by providing an automated spectrum exchange in which spectrum is a tradable commodity. In one embodiment, data is received from a spectrum holder that defines a spectrum offering by frequency, time, and geographic area to identify available spectrum from the holder. A spectrum query that defines aspects of spectrum being sought by a spectrum user is also received and matched to one or more spectrum offerings. A transactional process is hosted by receiving a bid or rebid from the spectrum user for a matched spectrum offering and receiving a counteroffer from the spectrum holder that posted the matched spectrum offering. Each spectrum offering, bid, rebid, and counteroffer specifies price, frequency, time, and geographic area information in a standardized format. As a result, the automated spectrum exchange allows parties to market, locate, and transfer spectrum use rights with relative ease, faster transaction time, and lower expense.06-10-2010

20090310575Keep alive timeslots in a heterogeneous MAC protocol to track handsets in a wireless network - This disclosure describes a new keep alive timeslots based method to track registered handsets for a MAC protocol that combines contention-free and contention-based MAC protocols into a heterogeneous MAC protocol used for forwarding VoIP traffic in VoIP systems on wireless networks using multiple base stations thus allowing for transmission of high bit-rate data to multiple users over wired and wireless means.12-17-2009
20100014503Method for extending a heterogeneous MAC protocol to multi-channel systems - An extension to a heterogeneous MAC protocol that makes provisions for multi-frequency system architecture is described. A new frame structure for a multi-frequency xMAX system is introduced. Multi-frequency xMAX system is an extension of a single-channel xMAX system, where the available bandwidth is split into multiple channels to provide additional capacity and range. The new frame structure is followed by all channels and is designed to fulfill the requirements of multiple frequency operation. The new frame structure incorporates features that allow the handset to leverage the advantages of multiple frequency channels, especially in the event of interference. Also, a new mechanism to reduce the power consumption in the handset is discussed that significantly reduces the number of unnecessary receive operations at the handset.01-21-2010
20100124202RTP voice packets for base station hand-off in mobile IP telephony - In wireless networks where the goal is to support a large number of VOIP based cellular calls, large overhead headers in RTP voice packets are not acceptable. In wireless networks where multiple base stations are deployed, handsets may handoff from one base station to the other while in a voice call creating a large overhead. This disclosure describes an efficient way to extend a header compression algorithm and lower the overhead when the handset is in a voice call and hands off from one base station to another.05-20-2010
20110003604Dynamic pattern elimination based compression method for text-based signaling protocols - This disclosure describes a dynamic pattern elimination compression method to eliminate redundant patterns, the content of which is not known a priori, by identifying the candidate dynamic patterns and marking them, then checking to see if there are any duplicate occurrences within the entire message by searching for markers, if a marker is found, checking to see if the pattern occurred before, if not, assigning a unique variable to the pattern, if so replacing the pattern with the variable that was assigned for this pattern, and if a pattern is found only once, removing the variable assigned to it.01-06-2011
